Hi! I have a 4 1/2 year old son. I want to do some kind of chore chart for him but I am having a hard time coming up with a lot of stuff. He does have low muscle tone and some coordination issues so things like taking the kitchen trash out to the garage may be a bit tough for him (mostly because of the weight and we have stairs that go down to our garage). I would certainly love some ideas from you ladies and Dad's though! Thanks a lot for your help!

What can I do next?

We recently won a large pink die from King Putts. I told my daughter to get it and we could roll for chores and the guy encouraged that she take it.

On the weekends we roll every 2 hours.

1. take out the trash (your son could replace the trash liners)
2. put away clothes
3. sort the dirty laundry
4. clean room
5. dust
6. read a book (your son could color)

If a chore has already been done, she just roles again. She loves it!

I've posted this before, but this is what my son does regularly (he's five): oh, and I call them 'responsibilities', because I dislike the word 'chores'.

Get dressed
Clothes to laundry
Brush teeth/Go potty
(for after preschool)--
Hang up coat/tote bag
Unpack lunchbox
Put clean laundry away
Quiet playtime
Clean up bedroom/play areas
Set table for dinner
Put on pajamas
Dirty clothes to laundry
Bedtime routine
Help with recycling (carries it out to porch/bins)
Help bring bins in
Put away groceries
Watch for crosswalk lights (good practice)

Just have him help you wherever appropriate and necessary. Helping make dinner, set the table, clear the table, spraying and/or wiping the kitchen counters, feeding the pet/s, watering plants, keeping his toys picked up, those kinds of things :)
