Hi Mama's,

I wrote awhile back wanting advice on birthday party's at Mc Donalds. Thank You all for all of the great advice. We have decided on not having it at Mc Donalds and now are considering having the party at Chuck E Cheese. Have any of you had any experience with the party's they have and if so, what did you think? Was it worth the money? Do's and dont's etc.? Thanks for any advice you can give.

We've had and been to several informal CEC parties. We haven't booked through them. Just go in early around 10. Buy pizza and tokens on your own and bring in a cake. It will be way less expensive. On the website you can print off award sheets that have 10 free tokens each. print one off and give to each child. Purchase a theme party cup and label with each kids name, we just put 20 tokens in the cups. (they get 30 in all) Eat on the CEC plates they give with pizza or bring in your own. Also, sign up on the website for your childs birthday and they email 20 free tokens on your birthday. You can print off several and give to the party guest.

We have had a party at the one in Allen. We had a fair experience, but it mainly has to do with the hostess you get, some are good and some aren't. That being said, the kids had a BLAST and the parents enjoyed it also. If you decide to have one on the weekend, choose the earliest time slot (10:00 am). They are not a busy at that time and they actually give you bonuses for scheduling one that early. There were only 3 other parties there when we had one that early and we went to another early party at the same location and there was only one other party!! It makes a HUGE difference on the crowd factor and it's also nice to get it done with early!

Good luck!

While I think a party at chuck e cheese would be fun, i would never pay for an actual "party" from them. If you go online to chuckecheese.com you can sign up for their email alerts and get some great coupons!! (Like 100 tokens for $10) They also have deals for pizza too. So, that is what I would do. You can bring in a cake, some party favors and balloons if you would like. I personally dont find the extras that the staff etc provides to be worth it, but that is just me. You could even get away with going at an off time and not having to do pizza at all! Have fun ~A.~

I was recently at one.

Pros:
- Kids liked the games
- Visit from Chuck E. for the birthday guest
- OK food... Equivalent to CC's - Don't know the price.
- Organized and cleaned up by them
- Party mostly kept on schedule by staff
- They had some good singing activities to involve the kids in the party

Cons:
- The one in Allen didn't seem clean enough for me.
- I would suggest you bring your own cake. The cake they had was overpriced for what you get and it wasn't that great.
- They left pitchers of drinks on the table in front of 4 year olds and did not give them tops for their cups = spills from many kids.
- The Chuck E. costume was OLD and cracking, especially the vinyl on the hands where the kids would give him a high five. ICK!

All this being said, I am VERY particular and have phobias about stuff. I know this about me and keep that into consideration when reading this. The parents of the birthday girl seemed to be pleased with the experience.

Hi C.,
We have had 5 of them so far and I really like them for the price. I would suggest finding a "newer" location if possible. I used the one in N. Garland off of 190 and loved it. They were very good and my host was a great help. I also would suggest staying away from the weekends if you can since it can get kind of crowded with kids. I stay at home so I have mine in the morning during the week and it's perfect, like we have the whole place to ourselves.
Whatever you decide I hope you have a great party!
