Have You Thrown a Chuck E Cheese Birthday Party?

My daughter will be turning 4 soon. Last year we did her party at the Little Gym of Cedar Hill...and it wasn't so great, even though it was expensive. This year I was thinking of Chuck E Cheese. It would probably be less expensive and more fun than The Little Gym.

If you've held a party at Chuck E Cheese, please let me know how it went. If you have other suggestions for a 4 year old girl, I'd be happy to hear those, too! I also have a 14 month old boy that we'll be entertaining, too. Thanks for your help!

We did my daughter's 4th bday there and it was OK. most of the kids at the party were young and not able to run around together parents had to help with most things. It ended up that they really didn't do much together past cake and presents. We did McDonalds for my son's 3rd and it was great, Cheap and kids loved the McDonald's play place. We did it at the one on Sublett and 287 not far off of I 20 in Arlington/Mansfield. We didn't enjoy the little gym either. Make sure you look at the CEC if that's what you want to do and see just how many smaller rides and games they have. Good Luck I don't enjoy birthday planning because of all of this.

I have thrown several birthday partys at Chuck E Cheese and they all turned out great. It is really nice because the kids can all run around like crazy kids and it is acceptable. The kids have a ball and can do what ever they want to a point. If your child likes video games it is a great place to take them. They have someone standing at the front door so if your childs numbers that they put on their arm doesn't match up with the person taking them then they do not let them leave. So you can relax and not feel like you have to have your eyes on your child at all times.

Incrediable Pizza off 183 and Collins is really cool. They are actually cheaper than CEC (pretty sure). I took my son there to play and they have something for all age groups. They have bumper cars, go carts, golf, bowling, a place for tots, and tons of games. They also do everything on a card so you don't have to keep up with coins.

Okay I know you have probably had a lot of people say yes do it but if I could take back doing my sons birthday at CEC I WOULD. It was the most miserable experience I have every had. We couldn't hear anything or see anything because there were way to many kids there and so it wasn't much fun when he opened presents. When it was time to eat it was next to impossible to get all the kids back to the table and singing Happy Birthday was non-existent. We did that for his four birthday now for his 5th birthday we rented out Kirby Creek Natatorium and it was a blast. The life guard were so good with the kids and I loved how they made all the kids were life jackets it made me feel so comfortable letting the kids swim. I was able to go in and out of the pool entertaining guests and my sisters were able to bring there 14 month olds no problem. Another great place is the Lancaster Rec center. My friends mom rented the pool there and it was great the pool was heated and there was a little baby slide and even a big slide for the older kids. They didn't have life jackets though, they may have but I didn't see them. But there was of course a very shallow pool area for little ones. Hope this helps.

We did our daughters 4th at CEC and my sons 1st. Lots of fun. The kids love it. It is about 11.00 perperson and you can book on line at chuckecheese.com. Each store does offer different options though. Some offer the per kid, some have a 99.99 package for the first 8 kids, additional 12.99 each. I would stay away from the one in Arlington on Fielder and the one by red bird. I would go to Grand Prairie. It is newer and nice. Only a few years old. My Hubby works at the corporate office for CEC.

We have thrown and attended several parties at CEC and have never had an issue with them. They bring out a cake and you can also take a cake or cupcakes. You can stay with thier decorations or bring your own to set up the table. They will even supply the goodie bags!!! All kids love pizza, soda and games so you can never go wrong with CEC! I am experiencing the other issue...I want something a little different then CEC for the 2nd b-day around the corner. I do hope you try them...call and set up the reservations so everything goes smoothly. Happy Birthday to your daughter!!!!!!!!

We've had our son's party at CEC before, and he loved it! I love that they take care of everything for you. As a matter of fact, we are doing it again this year. lol

It's nice that they do all of the set-up, clean up, and everything. That way, you can enjoy yourself and take photos or video the whole thing! :)

I have had a party at Chuck E. Cheese before (for my son's 3rd birthday). It was OK. My general thought on the party there was that there were so many other parties going on at the same time that everything felt rushed and your child doesn't really feel special on their special day. One of my favorite places that I have had a party is The Clubhouse for Kids. The prices are more reasonable, there are only 2 or 3 parties going on, and there are activites for all age levels. The only problem with them is location. There are only two: Plano and Bedford.

Yes, we go to CEC almost every year for at least one of our kids' parties. What we like is that you can have them help with the party (and pay more) or you can just bring your own party there and not pay for anything except drinks for the kids and tokens. And there's often coupons in the paper. What we do is use the coupon for pizza, drinks and tokens. And we don't go through their party planning. Its much cheaper that way. And one time the kids didn't want pizza so we just bought drinks and tokens and played the whole time. That was fun as well.

Before finalizing the time, we call the local CEC to see how many parties are scheduled for what time. Then we go at the time when there are fewer parties going on. Then there's not a crowd.

Hope this helps.

I had my daughter's 6th birthday party there, and it has been one of her best, and least expensive parties. The kids had a blast, and the parents got to sit, relax & visit while the staff did the work. With kids, its all about the games...most couldn't care less about eating--just a couple of bites between rounds of Skee-Ball!
