Hello My name is M. and I live in the SW Ft. Worth area, I moved here almost 2yrs ago to have support for me and my now 18 month old son. Currently i am looking for work and as some of u may know sometimes you just have to get out there a beat the pavement and thats hard to do sometimes with a lil guy on your hip so Im looking for a mothers day out program as well as a church to attend that is forgiving of young single mothers trying to do the right thing and get back on track. I stay with my parents currently and they have been such a blessing for me but its time for me to get up and get going. I dont have any friends here and I have literally been shut up in my house since I hae had my son lol Im 25 and its jus not right to be such a hermit at my age nor do I want to turn my son into one either. So if anyone has suggestions it would be very much appriciated!! Thank you!

I personally go to the Fellowship Church satellite in fort worth by montgomery plaza. I believe they do have an active pre-school moms group (my kiddos are too old and I work) that meets during the day, during the week. Great for support and meeting other moms in the church. The Flavor women's monthly meeting is also wonderful as are the weekly study classes.
If that is not your cup of tea, though, I have friends attend and recommend UCC and Christ Chapel Bible church.
in terms of MDO programs. If these don't offer any, contact the resource and referral service at the link below. For only $10 they will give you a list of programs that meet your needs - while mainly child care, they also know of many, many MDO programs to referr you.
Good luck!

Hi M.,
My church doesn't have a mothers day out either, but it is a wonderful spirit- filled church with alot of activities to help you make friends. They even have a job-searching workshop to help you w/a resume and find work. There are many different classes offered. From marriage classes to financial classes to bilble studies, women's groups, singles groups and we have a wonderful childrens nursery/ministry for your little one. I work full-time in the nursery! It's called Turning Point Church its located off I-35 and Garden Acres Dr. On the northeast corner of the service rd. Across from Love's. The website is tpcfamily.org but i keep having problems getting it to come up. Maybe its down for maintenance.
My mom attends New Life Fellowship, http://www.nlifefellowship.org/. It is a great church but I'm not sure if they have a mom/babies day out group. You can call and see. Also, if you're looking for work I was recently in Hobby Lobby (Cooper in Arlington) and they are hiring cashiers. Also D D's discounts is hiring (Arlington). I've heard of a few other places if you want to PM me I'll send those to you. Whatever you decide, stay prayerful and trust God. You're right, you do have to get out there and look because just applying on the internet will not cut it.
God bless you and take care.
I don't have a mothers day out program but I really like our church. It's South Oaks Baptist on hwy 287 in S. Arlington. It's right near Little Road and Green Oaks Blvd. It's great. PM me if you want more information.
