I would like to hear what other women use to clean their walls. I just need a general cleaner, that's safe on painted walls, but most of all I want it to smell good. Thanks!
I have never used a cleaner, I just use the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They work wonderfully. They don't have a smell unless they have out a new one with a scent. But they take off black scuff marks, dirt, crayon, marker, anything you could imagine. They have a few different kinds to choose from.

I clean a lot of rental houses and I always use pine sol diluted with water. I've never had any problems with it taking off paint. It's also great on painted cabinets. Hope this helps :)

I swear by the Magic Eraser. I haven't found anything that works any better. I also use Oxy Clean on my walls and it works pretty good, but for the stubborn stuff I use the Magic Eraser.

Hello,
I use Fabalosa (not sure I spelt it right) You can get it at Walmart and it comes in nice pretty colors, purple & green. I love the smell and have found that it is safe to clean just about everything.
Happy cleaning!

I also use the magic erasers. They really do work amazingly well. However, don't let your children get a hold of them accidentally. I got an email not too long ago about a child that was using one to help his mom clean and when she wasn't looking he began to use it on himself, his face, arms, belly, etc. He ended up with chemical burns from whatever is in the magic eraser that makes it work so well. Apparently, children's skin is more sensitive to the chemicals. The mother spent the next twenty-four to forty-eight hours giving the little boy motrin, rubbing burn ointment on him and giving him long baths pouring tepid water over him to soothe the burns, after spending hours in the ER finding out what caused the burns. Hope this info helps.

to clean walls you can use a bleach and water mixer. and also if you dont want that use Mr Clean. If you have smoke on your walls there is a stronger product that works well but need gloves to use it. It is TSP granules.

I just use Dawn dish soap and warm water. It works great and I was a smoker for 40 years! It was pretty black water when I finished cleaning....but the walls were CLEAN. Thank goodness I finally quit that horrible habit. Good luck!

I also use Magic Eraser on most of my wall stains but something a lot of people don't know is that WD-40 will take crayon off anything and not stain, however it has a small smell & you have to wash it off with soap & water afterward. Happy cleaning!

Mr. Clean with Febreeze in it works wonderfully, I chose the Lavendar/Vanilla (Purple) I am a mom to 1 eleven year old boy, and have 2 Great Danes, 2 Cats, and a Rat and Snake in the house, The dogs shake their heads and saliva goes everywhere, projectile slobber :) I have to wash walls weekly, I use the purple Mr. Clean is is awesome, I dilute with a little water, put in spray bottle and spray stains, they immediately start to dissolve and run down walls, then I wash walls down completely. Not only clean but smelling so nice and light is wonderful. I even soak my vaccuum cleaner filters in this and when they dry place back in vaccuum and the smell goes into house and carpet when I vaccuum. I found it safe for using when wiping down glas tables in living room and even use it when cleaning in the bathroom. I do a base clean with Clorox Lavendar and then rinse bathroom well with that and then use the Mr. Clean.
It is truly a wonder and I don't know how I cleaned before it. The whole house is clean and smells that way too. Take it from me, through a child and multiple animals in the house this Mr. Clean works wonders!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you tried the magic Eraser? It works great on walls. After you clean though, I've found that it is best to wipe with a wet washcloth. It can leave a film. It's also great on soap scum in the shower.

C., as a gr mom (Nana) of 5, i use a weak solution of simple green to remove crayon, pencil marks from our walls. I do have some crayon drawings I am saving. I call them my Monte's. Our two oldest gr children did them while I was getting ready to go out for dinner with their Papa. ;) They were quick :) It's on what I refer to as Nana's Angel art wall, I have all of their hand prints at age 17 months and 2 1/2 yrs on that wall. A couple made with spagetti sause or chocolate, one with kool aid powder, one with greasy dirt from papa's garage.
Try a small area where it won't show to check on your paint color lightening. Then just use sponge and spray bottle and wipe it down.
Good luck

I use Mrs. Meyers products for everything. They don't stink like chemicals, and they work really well. The All purpose cleaner is what I use for floors and walls. I like their Stainless steel cleaner too. Those can really stink, but I like the smell of the Meyers one. The Merc in Lawrence sells them.

This is what I do. I have a sponge mop that I use just on my walls. I just started to use the Mr. Clean with febreeze in it and it smells good. I just fill a bucket with warm water add the Mr. Clean and "mop" the walls.
I do this at least once a month and never had problems with the paint wearing. But I do not have flat paint on my walls, if you do you will need to use caution.

MR. CLEAN MAGIC ERASER!!!!!!!! This little sponge is the best thing since sliced bread. All you have to do is wet it, wring it out and use it. It even gets out permanant marker (sharpies) off of dining room tables. I know I must sound crazy with this next statement but it will change your life. I'm a little goofy.... There is no smell and it is really cheap. You can get them at wal-mart for like 2 bucks. Now there are other brands but they aren't as good. Good Luck!!!

I use the Mr. Clean erasers and I know they also make a mop...sure would make reaching those higher areas a lot easier... BTW- you may want to test a spot before you go using any other cleaners...depending on your paint, you may be cleaning a lot of paint off your walls since mose are now water soluble.

I have always heard good things about Magic Eraser and products like it (I haven't tried in myself). However, I got an email one time warning against letting kids use these products. The email had pictures and everything, it was HORRIBLE. I guess that some moms have let their kids help with the cleaning using the magic eraser and the kids ended up getting a major rash which needed some major medical attention. As I said, the pictures were horrible. So I thought I would warn you that if you do use this product, it would be a good idea to use gloves and do not let the kids help.
