Who's clipping coupons and how is it working for you.

Check out www.couponmom.com. That is where I got started.
The only time I use coupons is if I get an item for free or if I combine them with sales. I always get the sales papers for the major stores and go off of their ads and if I can get something cheaper than the generic option, I'll go for the name brand. Most other times I'll just buy generic because it's usually cheaper than the name brand.
I have tried off and on doing coupons but I realized that I ended up getting stuff I dont normally buy and the items still seemed pricy to me. I do mypoints coupons, and couponmom. Our lame grocery store here in town refuses to take printed coupons now well they lost what little business I gave them. They are super expensive. SIDE NOTE I LOVE All You magazine its great its for real women and they have great coupons and great advice.
I try clipping coupons especially if it is something I am needing, but I have found for the last 3 weeks I try to buy items that are on the grocery store specials and lots of times I have a coupon for it. I try to plan my meals around the sale items. Please share what you learn.
I am new at the coupon game so I have read some wonderful ideas I am going to try. But I find it very helpfun in saving money. We try to form our meals around our coupons each week this helps alot. I subscribe to
Coupons.com on email and they have pretty good coupons. It automatically comes to me when they are ready to print.
I have clipped coupons for years and used them for sale items or new items that I wanted to try for some savings. But I have been doing the Grocery Game www.thegrocerygame.com for the past two years and my savings have been wonderful. I have a fully stockpiled pantry and also health and beauty aids and paper goods. The grocery game hooks up your coupons and your local stores and tells you the best time to use your coupons. If you trust your list the savings can be tremendous. We don't have a large salary..so it is not that we have been able to save a lot of money...it is that now we have food in the cabinets and don't go hungry waiting for the next paycheck.
I like to clip coupons. Some times it helps me save on items I want or need, but other times it makes up the difference for something extra I buy. I have a few things I buy that I will only buy that brand of, like Curel lotion for example. Some times I find coupons on the web site, in magazines like People, First and All You. I also always get a Sunday paper, there are always coupons in the paper, except on holiday weekends. There are times new products that come out and with a coupon for a dollar or two off I can afford to try it. Other times I hang on to the coupon and when I see a store has it on sale then I use the coupon to save even more. You can even google coupons on brands and print your own coupons. I really like the ones that help me save on paper products, personal items and cleaning products. Those always seem to cost so much and yet we need those as much as food. I also like the ones that help on frozen foods.
I find that they save me money, afford me to pick up and extra item or 2 or encourage me to try something new. It takes a little bit of extra time but I think it's worth the time.
Good luck! Happy saving!! Happy shopping!!
I buy 3-4 Sunday newspapers each week at the Dollar Tree )$1.00 each instead of $2.00 elsewhere) and clip the coupons. I use www.Southernsavers.com which details the Publix, CVS and Walgreens ads for me with the coupon matches. When I am really "on my game" I can save a ton, but even not being on my game the concepts I have learned from this site still save me money.
I also am a big transferrer of prescriptions to gain $25.00 gift cards. We typically spend $200 per month on prescriptions so every little bit helps.
And..if you are in Birmingham and want a great deal on meat this week-end you should really consider checking out the Western Supermarket Warehouse sale this week-end at their Rocky Ridge location.
