Is there anywhere in the Raleigh area to buy cloth diapers? I would like to get some, but I want to see them first rather than buying them online. Any advice on cloth diapering would be appreciated! :)

I don't know about buying, but we use a diaper service and love it. It is very affordable - let me know if you want to know more :)

Hi A.,
I noticed that Whole Foods on Wade Avenue in Raleigh just re-started carrying G diapers...they have a cloth outside and a biodegradable, flushable liner-thingy inside. I don't use them but I have a couple of friends who do and really like them. You might want to at least check it out. They have a starter kit for under $20. Good luck!

I live in the Charlotte area but I bought cloth diapers at Wal-mart. They are always on the bottom shelf. You get a pack of 12 diapers for about $6.

Hi A.,

They have them at Target, Wal-Mart, K Mart and Babies R Us. Some Toys R Us carry them, too. They are usually on the bottom shelf in packs of 6 or 12 depending on if they are pre-folded.

Good luck!!

Don't get diapers from a chain store. In my experience, you're not going to get any good diapers at a brick and mortar store. You could try finding some one that sells online that is near you. I've heard several of them that are willing to let local customers come by and learn all about the diapers.

That's where I read up and learned all about cloth before I switched my son. Then I bought a sample pack to get a feel for what I liked. He's been in cloth for 22 months now. The next one will be in it from the beginning.

I live in the Raleigh area and have used cloth diapers for almost two years now. I solely use Mother Ease Diapers, which I first bought at the Kids Exchange, and then ordered more online. I have recommended them to many friends and all have good reviews as well. If you want to look at them before buying them, then your best bet is looking on Craig's list or yard sales/newspaper. Everyone I know has either used Fuzzy Bunz, Mother Ease, or Bumkins. There are advantages to each, so it just depends what you are looking for. Good Luck and let me know if I can help anymore.

Hi A.-
There is a cloth diapering forum on the website www.justmommies.com that is super helpful when researching the idea. The other moms will tell you anything you want to know.

I think that the boutique next to the Women's Birth and Wellness Center had tons in stock (I don't know what brand) last time I was there. The address is

930 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (historic Airport Rd.)
Chapel Hill, NC 27514-2656

The Clinic is in ste. 202...I don't know the number of the boutique, but it is directly across the hall. If you go to the second floor on the elevator turn left out of the elevator and it is on your left.

If you have questions or want to talk to someone before going out there, I'm sure that you can get the boutique's phone number from Felicia (the receptionist at the clinic) ###-###-####.
