I get most of my stuff at Kohl's. If you pay full price at Kohl's, you went on the wrong hour!
Hi Mamas,
I wrote a post a few weeks back about a budget on clothes shopping...I so appreciated all the responses as there were many and several different takes on a budge....Last night, I was out for dinner with some girlfriends and we decided to window shop and browse.....Ok some of the stores we went into even the sales racks had expensive merchandise...I liked a blouse being showcased in the window and went in to check on the price.. $119 for a basic blouse!!!!!!! Ok no way would I spend that....so I think I've done quite well with my coupons and "saviness" on deals this year...
My question if you are going to shop around where do you shop for the best deals? Online and at which stores? I am finding the best deals at Kohls with their coupons but what about online...and for those in my area what resale/consignment shops do you recommend? Regardless that both my husband and I are working there's no way in heck I am going to spend $$$$ on clothes.

I find amazing deals at the following stores:
Old Navy
The Limited
Most department stores
Target with coupons (mostly for baby clothes)
The key is signing up for notifications of sales. For example, The Limited had 50% off all sweaters the other night from 6pm to 9m and they emailed me the day before to tell me. You bet I was on there shopping. I got most sweaters for about $20 to $25 dollars. Cheap as walmart but better quality and design!
Also, Old Navy, if you just log on the website, you will see the good deals. I just get on the site occassionally and look. The key is also not buying when there isn't a good deal, unless you ABSOLUTELY need something. Now that I have gotten the sweaters at The Limited for 50% off, it is hard for me to pay regular price there!
* I am like another poster, though, when it comes to some clothes, like for work. I bite the bullet and spend the extra money because as always, you get what you pay for!!
Good luck!
Our local Target takes all their clearance stuff that doesn't sell and donates it to Goodwill... hello paying pennies on the dollar for brand new clothes with the tags still on!! Nothing better than paying $3 for a $40 top ;)
I get a bit snobby sometimes with some of my clothes - If they are weekend gear - it totally hit Target, for sure!! But if for work or my "nice" outfits, I bite the bullet and splurge BUT the places I try to trim corners for the "nice" stuff is Bluefly.com, shop it to me.com, Hautelook.com, TJMaxx, Marshalls & Banana Republic Outlets (but be careful - if it says "for outlet" or Outlet on the tag it may be lower quality from experience the shirts don't hold shape very well).
good luck with your shopping plan.
I think the best think thing to do is take out a Banana Republic or Gap credit card. You will be privy to 40 or even 45% off coupons several times a year. You can use that discount towards sale items as well. Also, if you spend 200 dollars at either of those stores, Old Navy, Baby/kids Gap, or Gap Body, you get a 10 dollar certificate towards a future purchase. You also need to sign up for emails. Lots of great coupons there too.
I do a lot of shopping at Macys.com, as the shipping is usually free (I can almost always find a code, or spend enough for it to be free.) Sometimes I will try the item on in the store, and then go order it online, and it'll be cheaper!
I find that if you shop the sales at stores like The Gap, Limited, Loft, Eddie Bauer you can get some really good deals and end up paying the same or less than Target or Walmart and much better fit/quality. I avoid most outlet stores now because it's a different clothing line and the quality just isn't there. I bought a Vera Wang brand long sleeve cotton shirt from Kohls a few months back for 20.00...it completely pilled and looks awful now, what brands do you all have luck with at Kohls?
