So, my daughter had pneumonia back in Feb. which cleared up with 3 antibiotics. Then in March she got the stomach flu. Now, she has had a cough for a couple weeks now. It's not a bad cough and she has not had a fever at all. So, I was thinking maybe allergies? But, today she has come down with a rash on her arms and cheeks. It's like a fine sandpaper rash. Just little tiny pin point red bumps all over. I gave her some benadryl a few hours ago but it still itches her. She also has a slight stuffy nose today too. I'm going to call the dr. in the morning but I wanted to get your opinion on what it could maybe be? She still has had no fever this whole time.
Thanks!

So What Happened?

So, we went to the dr's today. Strep test is negative. Dr. is saying by the looks of it it's 5th's disease, also known as slapped cheek syndrom. Yes, she has actually had chicken pox twice. Once when she was 2 and the other time when she was 5. Both confirmed by her dr. So, the dr. said the rash will come and go with in the next week or so and it's just viral so to also keep an eye on my son to see if he gets it. Other than that, there is nothing I can do, just wait it out. Thanks!

i think you should go to the ER tonight.... it could be rubella or scarlet fever, i know there is another one my son got from having to high of a fever and he had the same thing your daughter did he got sick for a while and then he got better and had this cough, ended up he had meningitis and the doctor kept telling me that he was fine!!!! I didnt find out until i took him to the ER and they did a spinal tap and said he has meningitis and we were rushed to a hospital 3 hours away and in ICU for ten days.... Point being if you feel like there might be something wrong dont ever doubt your mommy sense and always get second opinions... or you could be in the shape i am in for trusting the doctor and My son now has Autism because of it.

strep. My son's gotten strep several times with no fever present. Or scarlet fever which really needed to be treated asap.
