Creative Ways to Get Rid of a TON of Baby Girl Clothes Fast?

I'm nesting and need the space! LOL

I have over 10 HUGE bags of incredible girl clothes in perfect condition (no stains, washed on gentle with free and clear), many are "high end" (Noa Lily, DKNY, Baby Guess, Gap, Lullaby Club). All are from age 0-18 months and all seasons in all of the sizes. Thing is, I haven't the time or energy to spend the time selling it on Ebay, and I am not getting great follow-up on Craigslist selling it as a "lot" (although ideally I'd really like to get rid of it all at once). I've never done consignment for children's clothing but assume it would be time consuming getting it ready.
Any ideas? Anyone in Pittsburgh who I could hand this to to sell for me and give a cut (does that happen)?
Thanks! :)

ADDED: I am very familiar with Snugglebugs (Leigh is GREAT) but again, even though it would be the third time consigning it would take WAY WAY WAY more time than I have right now, and Leigh told me last season that they don't have the VIP service anymore...thanks though...

What can I do next?

You can consign them through Snugglebugs - I think the link is snugglebugs.com. You price them and they sell them.

I've done 2 different types of consignment sales. One is consignment events. Snuggle Bugs has a consignment event coming up in September at Century III Mall. They are accepting consignor sign ups right now. This type can be pretty time consuming, espeically your first time. You need to make sure the items are laundered, on hangers, no stains, tears, recalls. Sort by gender, size and type of clothing. Enter the info on a spreadsheet - this part is surprisingly easy and quick. Attach labels and pricing stickers printed out by Snuggle Bugs. After you do this once the next time is much easier. Do you know anyone looking for a little extra cash? A babysitter, neighbor? Maybe you can hire them to do the work.

The second type I've done is through a consignment store. Luckily I've never had to fill out paperwork for each item I was taking in as Denise mentioned. However, you usually have to make an appointment in advance (if you want to take in winter clothes call now for an appt - the nearest appt may be several weeks off) to take in clothing items and there is often a limit - sometimes as low as 25 items. I have never had to supply hangers but do need to check for stains, recalls, etc.

I don't know if there are any "iSold It" stores around here. They sell items on ebay and take a cut of your money. There used to be one in Mt. Lebanon, but I don't know if it is still there.

Hi - I live in the Pittsburgh area - Plum Borough - and I'm willing to sell them for you. I sell things for my father-in-law on eBay and make a cut from the sales. Let me know if you're interested.
We also have consignment shops in the area, not too familiar with them, but willing to look into them if you're interested.

There are tons of consignment shops around. I love Mirror, Mirror in the South Hills. You drop em off and pick up your check or store credit. Very easy.

S.,
I sell lot of kid clothes on ebay and I can tell you it IS time consuming. If I were in your shoes, I would sort into a few similar lots (size, season, etc) and take photos and list the lots on ebay with a reasonable Buy It Now price. They'll go, believe me.
The reason I started selling on ebay is I went to a consignment store and was handed paperwork to fill out each and every item (I had, at the time, two shopping bags full of boy shoes) and I was like...."Oh--NO WAY am I doing this." It was a hassle. Personally, I'd go the ebay route--in lots, with a Buy It Now option. Good luck!

check out www.snugglebugsconsignment.com
they are a resale event happening in sept and they offer vip service where the company prepares and prices your clothing for you...of course you get a smaller percentage payout but it would take them off your hands!

Hey Suzy
I have done the consigment shop in Robinson called Once Upon a Child and have been so dissapointed by the return. After I get everything together and seperated and load it and my child in the car and drive there then empty and wait for them to go through everything I end up with $6.00 Yes it happens everytime! All that work and come home with nothing is so frustrating!

Their policies are really strict. I would go with the suggestions you have been given. I have always done well with craigslist but thats one item at a time! I like the ebay suggestion with buy it now option from Denise. I may use that!
Sincerely,
S.

There's a HUGE consignment event (i believe once a year) called Snugglebugs. You can sign up as a vendor and sell your stuff there... I think the website is: http://www.snugglebugsconsignment.com/

Might be a good way to get rid of your baby clothing and make some $ in the meantime!
Goodluck!

I have had some limited luck selling at Once Upon A Child. The nice thing is that you can take the (clean, folded) stuff out in laundry baskets (they don't take bags) or totes and they'll take what they want. They are really picky about what they take. The one by Ikea does a punch card program where if you sell/buy a certain amount you get something (25%? I can't remember) off your next purchase.

Given your time constraints, I'd go to OUAC, and then sell the rest at a yard sale or big lots on Craigslist. We always want used baby clothes to be worth more than they are (except when we're buying, of course!)

Snugglebugs, mentioned by Lisa, used to have an option where they would do all of the prepping and input of your items but you only received 50% of the profits. It was a limited service offered to very few consignors so if you are interested, inquire soon!

Here's the website http://www.snugglebugsconsignment.com/
