I was going to recommend Once Upon a Child, and I see several others have too. They have stores in Monroeville, Robinson at the Towne Center and in Wexford right on 19. I've been to the Robinson and Wexford locations and found good stuff.
I am looking for recommendations of where to buy inexpensive clothes. I've been to several thrift stores that suprisingly had very little (and the quality could have beeen better). I have been to Gabriel's and Marshall's...any place that you could tell me in stores (in or around Pittsburgh)or on online that have a great sale on now or just has great prices? Thanks!

Hey, S.,
Have you shopped online? ebay has great deals and CUTE stuff. At that age the clothing usually isn't worn out at all. I have a boy, but I always got pretty good sale deals at Old Navy and Children's Place -still do! Have you checked out the Salvation Army Superstore near Century III? Also, check out Craig's List.
I like Once Upon a Child. The one I go to is in Monroeville. I know there is another one. I think it is in the South Hills but I'm not sure. They are pretty picky about what they take and their prices are pretty good.
Also, check out Old Navy and The Children's Place (both are at the Waterfront and other locations). Their prices aren't as good a a thrift store but you can still find some pretty good buys especially if you catch their sales. Both are also located at the Outlets as well which can save you a bit more money but isn't always worth the extra mileage, time and gas for what you save. However, if you and a friend make a day of it and get some Christmas shopping done at the same time, it could be worth the extra in travel and gas.
Also, check Craig's List and Freecycle (Yahoo Groups) on the Internet. Sometime you can find some good deals on Craig's List and Freecycle is Free. Once you offer something of yours for free on the site, you can post a message requesting what you need and if someone else has it online, they'll let you know. You might not get what you need but it's worth checking out.
Anyhow, hope this helps. Good luck.
My favorite place to buy my girls cloths is Target. I think the quality is great and the price is awesome! That is where I buy most of my girls cloths at. I dont really like thrift stores I sometimes find them to overpriced. I also like JC Penneys when they have the buy one get one for 99 cents. Okie dokie has really good stuff and it is all mix and match. For like 10 bucks you can get 2 things. Kohls also does the same thing sometimes I think the brand is Jellybean but I am not sure. That is what I buy my girls and it lasts all season and then some because I pass it down. So good luck!!!!
Once Upon A Child is my favorite place to shop. I spend very little money, there's tons of things to choose from, and it's all really nice stuff. There's also one in Monroeville, on Rt 22. There are also some really good people on Craigslist.
Good luck!
There's a great second hand store on Rt. 88 in Bethel Park called The Has-Bin. (They have a website for hours and location - http://www.geocities.com/hasbinshop/info.html )
You can also ask on Freecycle - you have to sign up with a yahoo account, but there is TONS of stuff being offered/asked for and given away free every day. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pittsburgh_freecycle/
I also endorse the Ebay idea - look for "lots" of clothing or multiple items from one seller to save on shipping.
Good luck!

Have you ever looked at The Children's Place? They have really cute clothes, especially for girls, and many of them are moderately priced. My only complaint is that the colors fade after about a dozen washes. But for clothes that your child may only wear for 6 months, it's pretty good. Also, I love Target and Wal-Mart. Target especially has nice selections for girls.
I've found a lot of good deals at Snuggle Bugs and The Has Bin as noted by other posters. If you go to the Has Bin be sure to print out one of their coupons from the internet.
I also just read on another forum about Freepeats a website where you can get free gently-used baby, child and maternity items. It is new for the Pittsburgh area and if you join by Oct 31 you get free lifetime membership. Freepeat was supposedly reported on in the October issue of Readers' Digest. I think the website is freepeat.org.

Once upon a child. They will also buy "gently" used clothes and toys from you. Theres one in robinson. I love to buy jeans for my daughters. You get such unique choices. Target, kohls and walmart online. Especially after season, stock up for next year. AJ Wright in Crafton. Is like a Marshalls, Tj Maxx but a lower end.
I also recommend Once Upon a Child, the Robinson location. Not sure where in the Burgh you are located, but Consignment Cottage in Moon Township has an entire 2nd floor of kid's clothing.
Unfortunately you posted this too late for the Snugglebugs sale. It is held twice a year in the spring and fall. There are many other consignment sales like it around but you have to really watch for them so you don't miss them.
The good news is that there is one this Saturday at the Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church on Old Clariton Road. It is sponsered by the MOPS group.
Others that have passed for this year but to watch for in the spring are:
have you been to once upon a child? its a consignment shop in monroeville. ( i think there's another location somewhere...wexford maybe?)
i've found a lot of good quality cheap clothes for my 2 girls there.
