Cups

In my opinion, the BEST transition from bottle to sippy cup are "Nubby" cups. Walmart, Meijers, Target all sell them, and they are cheap, only $1.25! The cups are easy to hold and the tops are very similar to the nipples on bottles.

The playtex enistein ones work very well. My little guy is a year old and wants nothing to do with a bottle. He switched over way easier then my girls did when they were his age.

Playtex if you want pieces to clean, I found some Take and Toss 2pks at my local $$$ store so we use those now. We clean them in the dishwasher and they still are nice/don't leak but not expensive so as to break you if they do lose one someplace.
I HATE THE GERBER CUP VALVES. They have small places for mold/ other stuff to get stuck so I would avoid those. The Playtex Valves are readily available for replacement as well. The "Nuby" from Walmart is fine, but sometimes the kids bite the plastic nipple type tops and then liquid just flows out of them. If you are breaking from bottle, I would transition to hard spount anyway.

My 4 year old loved the Nuby cups (the top is very similar to the bottle). But I found that it was REALLY hard to break him from those cups......so with my 18 month old I use just the ordinary Platex hard top sippers which I hope will be easier to transition eventually to a regular cup. My 4 year old still talks about his "soft babas" (Nuby).....maybe he's a little obsessed,lol.

When my little one first started drinking out of sippy cups he was really little, so the small, light, take and toss cups worked the best. He could hold them and get something out of them. However, now that he is 17 months old and purposely tries to spill his drinks, the Avent training cups are truly the most non-spill we have found. Good luck! Let us know what works for you! The ones that worked for my sons were those Nuby ones. They have the soft tops like a bottle nipple would be so it made the transition pretty simple. Now I can't say they didn't leak sometimes but they are cheaper cups!! Good luck :)

Definately the Playtex cups with the removable valves. All the other cups I tried leak like crazy. I run the cups and tops of the Playtex ones in the top rack of my dishwasher and the valves in the silverware tray. I replace the valves when they start leaking...and that is very rare. (once, I think in the last 1.5 years).
