Hi ladies,
I'm looking for a reasonably priced salon in Shelby Township for a GOOD haircut and highlights. One that will do a great job, but without the need to take out a second mortgage in order to get great results! I have very long, dark blonde hair and it seems that I always either get a messed-up, uneven cut, or the highlights don't turn out very well. Since my hair is long, I generally have to pay more out-of-pocket, for results that I'm not very pleased with! Also, I don't want someplace that uses the "cap" style services where they pull your hair through the holes with a knitting needle...I can do that at home myself.

Grande Allusions on 23 Mile between Mound and Shelby is great. Any of the stylists you get would do a terrific job but Karen and Joyce are my favorites. I've been going there for over 15 years and I have never been disappointed.

I go to a fantastic salon at the corner of Hayes & 23 Mile - called Abby Brookes Salon...###-###-####....ask for Lisa or Kristin - they are fantastic! They do my hair all the time and when our daughter got married the ladies came to my home in the morning and did all of the ladies hair for the celebration. I am a 40 year old mom with long dark hair and copper highlights. Over the years I have had my hair done at a lot of places until I met Geri at Borics. She works at the Hampton Village Center ( Rochester Road near Auburn in Rochester Hills - ###-###-####). I will never go any where else. She cuts my hair with a razor and does my highlights with foil. Each time it is perfect. A full head is around $80 plus a cut. They sometimes run specials.

I know you have had several responses but here is one more. :) I love going to Arthurs Hair Salon. Missy is the girl I have been going to for a few years now. I am very picky about my hair, I have very long (to the middle of my back) hair and always have. I cry when they take 2 inches off...lol Anyway Missy does exactly what you want, she also will have good advice. She does my highlights with foil and I love it everytime. She had a baby about 1 mo. ago and was on maturnity leave and she left her cards with Jessica and that who did my hair last time. She is very good also, although I like Missy a little more, maybe just because I know her more. But price for my hair with cut and color is $90 compared to $125-$150 at places I have been to in the past. I hope this helps. Oh Arthurs is on Garfield south of 19 mile.

I go to IMAGO Salon and Spa which is off 23 mile road, east of Schoenherr down that street where Taco Bell is. They do the "visor" method for blondes. It is awesome and gets every strand of your hair. I go to Sharon who is one of the girls there that knows how to do the visor method. I went and got a haircut and highlights and my total was $140. They are not cheap but I think its well worth the price. That includes the shampoo and blowdry. I have never left unhappy.

I go to Aria at 25 and Mound. It is an Aveda salon- so great products and VERY reasonably priced.
I used to go to a place that is on Hayes at either 21 or 22 mile rd (I think 22). I only stopped going because it is too far from me. They are excellent. I saw Shelly. She is great at cuts and highlights. The name is Chez-Chic. The phone number I have for them is ###-###-#### (don't know if it's changed or not). I highly recommend Shelly there. Give them a call and get prices.
