My daughter is 2 1/2 and loves to be active. Does anyone have any recommendations for where I should take her to learn dance? We live in Kennesaw, not far from Marietta and not far from Woodstock.

What can I do next?

My daughter has danced with Teaching Little Children since she was your daughter's age. The y have classes at the studio and also teach at a variety of daycares. The classes are designed to be fun for the younger girls and also teach dance skills. I can't say enough good things about the staff and how the classes have helped my daughter blossom.

Teaching Little Children is off Highway 5 just south of Chastain Road. They have a website www.teachinglittlechildren.com

I teach basic dance class for beginners at a the Ron Anderson recreation Center in Powder Springs, GA. I start at age 3, but I don't know how far that is for you. I think recreation centers have the most affordable dance classes with the least amount of committment, because children's interests change so often at this age. Also, I encourage children to learn ballet and tap for pure enjoyment, many dance studios really push competition, which I don't feel should be the emphasis at this age. As a matter of fact, at any age, the health benefits of the art of dance should always outway competition, although I have competed before. Just my two cents. Anyway, good luck.
