My husband has real bad dark circles. It's been there from few years but it's getting bad that we really want to do something about it... and soon! No allergies guess its hereditary.
Any creams that worked for you to get the discoloration off? Has anyone tried the cream with Vitamin K - do you think it works?
I have heard of tea bags or cucumber on the eye of few mins everyday works well. I am not sure if this helps prevent dark circles or works to get rid of existing ones ???

What can I do next?

I don't have very bad dark circles but some discoloration and puffiness. Someone gave M. the new l'oreal collagen micro pulse thing. I don't particularly like the way it feels, but I noticed and other people commented that there was a notable difference after a week of using it. There are always coupons for it in the newspaper and sales, but I think it retails for about $15. It might be worth a try.

Arbonne has a great anti aging eye cream. It does work. Arbonne doesn't put Mineral Oil in any of the products (they use only natural herbs and botanicals and only good natural ingredients) so the products go deep into the layers of the skin and tissue. I can email some before and after pictures and I would be happy to mail you a free sample.

I have dark circles too. I have tried every over the counter lotion and potion to no avail. It is under the skin and very hereditary. I find if I drink a lot of water, eat right, and take a multivitamin it helps some.

Dark circles are called “allergic shiners” because they sort of put you in mind of a black eye (or ‘shiner’), but they are caused by food allergies. Try a food elimination diet to see if you can isolate the allergy. Also, food allergies are usually caused by 'leaky gut' and pre/probotics will help correct that.

I would try a dermatologist.

Are you sure they are dark circles and not a hollowness under the eye creating a shadow? As we age we lose the fat that covers the area. I would suggest a trip to a plastic surgeon. Most offer a free consult and you by pass trying all those different over the counter stuff.
Mine was hollowness and I had a filler injected under my eye. It's been almost two years and still looks great. So glad I went and had it checked out.

Creams don't usually work. Creams fix things that are topical, and dark circles are usually caused by broken blood vessels under the skin. Cucumbers only work (sometimes) because they are cold and act like an ice pack would. Unfortunately, (especially if this has been an ongoing problem for years) plastic surgery may be the only option. There are a lot of risks involved and I wouldn't recommend it, but if he's serious about fixing the problem permanently it would be something he could consider.

Yea, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.. I have deep set eyes and dark circles - beyond make-up there isn't a lot of help. I've tried a LOT. Vitamins and sleep might help.. some people do Prep H to tighten the skin and lessen the extreme look if you have bags.

Dermatologists that do cosmetic injections do a filler under the eyes to lessen the dark circles. Last I checked locally the cost was about $700 per eye. It's not a permanent solution, but should last 6 months to a year. A Plastic surgeon might have more options.
