Date Night Out with Hubby

My anniversary is coming up and we would like to plan something nice and different. Normally we just do dinner and call it a night but this year I dont want the food to be the main objective. I was thinking a couples cooking class or dinner some where we could walk to near by shops or winerys. Anyone have ideas I can steal?

What can I do next?

Painting with a Twist in Frisco. So fun and it's definitely something different.

My husband and I painted the same thing (everyone in the class does) and it's neat to see how different the pictures look. We hung them in the laundry room. Makes me smile to remember our fun night when I'm doing the boring laundry!

There is a winery town about an hour from us. There you can go on a "private" tour set aside for anniversary couples. They also have hot air baloon rides where you and your husband can go up in a flight and toast each other with wine or other sparkling beverage. (My wife and I don't drink so we would use sparkling apple cider.)

We took a gondola ride (think Venice, Italy type) in Newport Beach Harbor.

Go to groupon on the internet and see what kinds of things they offer. It will give you ideas. My wife and went to Hawaii for our 25th anniversary and we have done something every year for our anniversary. One year I'll plan it and the next year my wife will plan it.

Congratulations on your anniversary ! ! ! (Which one is it for you?) I hope you have a wonderful time! Good luck to you and yours.

I have been married for 27 years and the last 15, we started making our anniversaries more then just dinner out. It started with my husband surprising me with a weekend at a cabin on the lake and now we make it a tradition every year to get away. Even if it's for the night and not the weekend, we find the time to go and enjoy being together. We have found that taking that time out of our busy life's has really strengthened our marriage and we look forward to it every year. Sometimes I will just go on "Priceline name your own price" for a hotel and book a 5 star hotel in Dallas or fort worth for around $100 a night...it's the best way to get a great hotel and not pay a lot! Or other times we have gone down to Fredericksburg for the weekend and stayed at a Bed and Breakfast. We have added other things on our getaways like wineries, horseback riding, concerts, museums, dinner cruises that have made it even more fun. Thanks for listening to me! I hope you have a amazing anniversary and enjoy many more ahead! Enjoy whatever you do!

How about invited two other couples out for dinner with you? It is still just dinner but the other 4 folk will add for timulating conversation.

Central Market has cooking classes. I don't know how close you are to Grapevine, Tx at the Gaylord. They have 4 course dinners with wine tasting also. You can get an anniversary rate for a room and the room service is excellent with great hot tub and pools.

I like the idea of a winery - see if they have a cabin or hotel close by so you can combine the evening with a night away from home. A cooking class would be fun, too! Hubby and I just went on a three night trip for our six year anniversary to a cabin. It was relaxing and so wonderful!

Happy Anniversary!

Picnic with bottle of wine at one of the concerts at the Dallas Arboretum. The Chihuly exhibit is beautiful at night. www.dallasarboretum.org
