Hi Ladies,
This past weekend was extremely tough for me, as Lily started weezing and needed 3 breathing treatments at the doctors office plus a treatment every 4 hours. Before she began weezing she had a "viral cold" for about a month which would go away for a day or two then come back stronger or with different symptoms.

My question is if there are any moms out there that have had similar experiences and if they have any advice? Im so worried about Lily and cant help thinking that its gonna get worse. Also most of my immediate family and I have Asthma and Im worried that she is starting to develop it.

What can I do next?

Hi C. C.

I am a nutraceutical consultant and want to ask if you have ever used any products from Market America. OPC-3 is a wonderful product that has helped me immensely with my allergies and asthma. Here is the link www.marketamerica.com/lizsheffield

Dear Cecia,
I am raising my 2 nieces and both had a lot of breathing problems when they were young. They are 3 7 6 and we haven't had any breathing problems for about a year & a half. I think as they grow, their lungs also grow stronger! Just help teach them how to take deep, cleansing breaths. It will pass, just keep giving her the treaments as needed! Good luck & God bless you and your daughter!
Sincerely,
Kathy

Hi there! I know what you are going through first hand!! My DD was finally diagnosed right before her 2nd Bday AFTER getting Pneumonia! She had constant watery eyes and after the Ped Eye Dr confirmed her tear ducts were fine, she was congested, had running nose issues, and finally after 5 breathing treatments at her peds office they told me she had asthma ASSOCIATED with allergies, and I was told that when she gets sick with a cold, it triggers it. I had her tested at the allergist office and she has allergies to mold, pollen, and certain grasses and trees only here in south Florida. They mixed up the Albuterol and Pulmicort meds in the nebulizer for about 2 weeks to help her and put her on Dallergy syrup, and fortunately, it worked! She was just given the ok this last Sat. at her peds office for the asthma not being there, she has a cough caused by her allergies but the Dallergy helps her with that. The only way to tell if it is an asthma attack is they way she will cough constantly like she cannot get a breath in and seemed like she was choking....talk about scary! See if your ped would recommend anything else, I would recommend taking your DD to
an Allergist/Asthma specialist and having them check her properly. I recommend http://www.florida-allergy.com/ Dr Zevy Landman as he is wonderful, as well as the rest of their staff. They were able to confirm all my fears about my little one and find a solution to it!! I wish you all the best!

A little about me.... Married 10 yrs to a wonderful man and a happy mommy to a very beautiful, lively energetic 3 yr old girl who I named Autumn....

Hi C.... I'm a mom of 2 boys my oldest just turned three last week.. Every time he gets sick i know that he'll start weezing, it starts off with a cold, and then i put him on air.. I was never a sick kid and my other son never gets sick like his brother does.. I don't know where he gets it from but it's all new to me too.The doctor says he'll grow out of it, but it still happens every time he gets a cold...It's kinda expected that he'll be on air for about a week, 3-4 times a day plus cold medicine.. hang in there. Hope she feels better..

Hi C.,
I take care of a child who has Asthma and is 1 1/2 years old and she had a cold a few weeks ago that wouldn't go away. The doctor finally told her Mom to stop giving her dairy and to start a food diary. It's only been two weeks but swear she sounds much better and I haven't had to give her any treatments in my care since she quit--unfortunately the Mom chose Soy milk as the alternative (which I heard can also be a culprit). My husband is also Asthmatic since childhood and it's almost predictable that he will need his Albuterol after eating milk and cookies or ice cream. Of course that doesn't stop him. I hope she feels better soon.
