Hi there Mamasource friends.. I have a question (well 2 kinda).. Does anyone know of a good Dermatologist in the Allen Park Area? I'm 31 and I get pimples a lot and it drives me nuts! I have a kinda gross confession also.. I'm guilty of picking/squeezing at them all the time too.. It drives me nuts to see any little bump or dark spot and I always squeeze it.. Its almost obsessive.. Recently I had one on my chin and now I have this huge red scab..It looks awful now! Worse than if I would've just left it alone! My fear is that my need to squeeze these all the time is going to make me have scars(already have some faint ones) and make me AGE too quickly! I know they say not to pick/squeeze them but its like I can't help it (I know that sounds nuts).. I've tried numerous face creams and nothing seems to work! Kinda comes and goes. n some pics of me, you can't really tell, but I am constantly looking the mirror for bumps or black spots, then I just make it worse. . ugh!
Does anyone know of a good facial regimen that works? Any specific brand or products? Going to a store and looking at the insane amount on the shelfs is just overwhelming to me! How do you choose without trying everything and spending a fortune? My sister in law is a Mary Kay Consultant and she swears by the Miracle set.. I tried it and it SEEMED to make me break out more.. I am a bit guilty of NOT using it EXACTLY the way it was intended though.. But it seems it should've done some good.. I don't know, I'm at a loss! I'll be 32 this July and starting to get terrified about making my face age too soon.. I'm starting to notice aging - wrinkles around the eyes, its freaking me out. Help! Thanks Everyone! You can always go to www.oakwood.org to find a (physician) dermatologist. I hear great things about the ones in Dearborn/Allen Park area, but have not been myself.

When my skin gets messy, I swear by the Proactiv Solutions system-- it's available online (though that seems to be a crazy subscription program) or at kiosks at various malls (I know Westland and Briarwood sell it). I *do* have to use the whole 3-step system (cleanser, toner, lotion), but it keeps my skin VERY clear. Good luck!

Hi A.! My name is J. and i'm a 24yr old mother of 2. I know what you are going through. Throughout high school I NEVER experienced break outs, but, after I had my kids my face went nuts. Anyways, i've tried so many different things just to keep my face clear, but nothing ever seemed to work. Finally, I picked up these cleansing cloths by Ponds clean sweep. It is used as a cleanser and makeup remover. Do you wear makeup and if so, do you clean your face EVERY morning and evening? I think one of my biggest mistakes was going to bed before taking my make up off. You should really give this product a try. Also, I used to pick at my face as well and regret doing now. I have scars and it's not very attractive, so try not to do it. I think the only reason I don't do it anymore is because my face is clear now. On the package it say,"NO LEADING CLEANSER IS BETTER"

I've found that picking at pimples/blackheads only makes it worse! Now, I'm not a believer in leaving a pimple on your face so long that it grosses out everyone around you but once I finally quit touching & picking at my face all of the time I hardly ever had break outs after that. Everytime you touch your face to pick at something, your spreading bacteria from your fingers to other spots on your face =\
I would say try Proactiv... Airborne also makes a similar product to Proactiv. I personally love Clean and Clear Oxygenating Facial Scrub has unique scrubbing beads that gently remove excess dirt, oil and dead skin to reveal soft, smooth, beautiful skin.

I unfortunaly don't have any solutions for you. I am in the exact same boat as you. I have more pimples now then I EVER did as a teenager and I am 38. I have even tried that Proactive Solution and that made me break out more as well. I will definately be watching your question to see if you get any good advise. Good luck! HUGS
