M.K.
I love costco diapers. Used to use pampers and then switched to Costco. I have rarely had blowouts with them.
My daughter has a 4 month old baby. With her first baby it was only pampers that she used. She would like to find a good diaper that is less expensive for second little.one. What do you think of Costco diapers? or any other ones that you have used and liked.
Thanks for you suggestions!

White Cloud was about all I would use. I hated Pampers. I never had any luck with them without fail they would explode at night and I would have a sleeper leg full of gel beady things falling out of the floor that are impossible to clean up. Huggies and Luvs smelled funny on my kids. White clouds did not have the gel, or the smell, and unless I just didnt get it changed when it needed it I seldom had one leak. I would occassionally buy Members Mark which were probably the same as White Cloud with a different store name. We do not have a Target where I live and WalMarts are everywhere so I could always get them too.
Kroger sells fantastic diapers! I don't know if they are brand of Kroger or if it's just something you can buy there but it's in a really bright green package. I LOOOOOOOOVED these diapers! And best part is, you get about a trillion of them for like 20 cents... OK, maybe not that good on price but still, awesome!
I think Target diapers are wonderful.
My sister-in-law and brother-in-law use Luvs and really like them. We usually buy pampers at Sam's Club because we can buy them in bulk. We also sometimes use the Albertson's brand (sorry, don't remember what they are called). When we use some of the cheaper or generic diapers, we try to keep a small package of sensitive diapers in the closet because when my daughter gets a rash they are really hard to clear up.
I was like that that with my first until almost the end of diapers. Then I started trying many different cheaper brands. The store brands (Kroger, Wal-Mart) did not work well for us. My daughter leaked though them all the time and they just did not hold up. Then I tried Luv's and really liked them. Then I wondered to myself why I had not tried them before. Now with my second, I only use Luv's. They cost much less then other brands but have the same great qualities. She does not leak though them and they hold a lot. She is 3 months old and sleeps though the night. When she wakes in the morning her clothes are still dry. Also, she has not had a rash yet. Yes it is b/c we change her quite often but also b/c the diaper is of good quality.
Also, just a side note: You can also go to www.Diaper.com and buy diapers in bulk once you find a brand you like. They are a little cheaper on this site and you can also use coupons. If you order at least $49 at one time you get free shipping and it comes right to your door within two days. I am not a big internet shopper but this is a great deal. Also, if you use the code JXAN0369 you will receive $10 off your first order.
Good Luck to you and your daughter, God Bless and Congratulations on your new baby!
I used Pampers when my kids were newborns and then switched to Luvs when they got a little older, like around 3 months. I have a boy and a girl and they have worked great for both. They are actually made by Pampers but are a cheaper version.
I used every type of diaper out there. I never did think any diaper worked better than another, they all blew out at one time or another. The best and cheapest diapers I found were cloth. They were easy and WAY cheaper and we had fewer blow-outs.
Now that I have twins I needed to find a cheaper alternative to Pampers. I love the Target brand. Like a previous posted stated they have the huge boxes. My boys are in size 3 and I pay $19.99 for 144 diapers-compared to $39.95 @ BJ's for Pampers.
I used Target diapers but they sometimes would leak at night. My Ped Doc said that she had the same problem with her son and would just buy Pampers and only used them at night and the Target brand during the day so that's what I did and it worked great.
I have tried Costco diapers, but I have used the Target brand diapers and I like them.
If she wants to try the Costco diapers w/o buying a whole big box, she might try posting a "Wanted" ad on Freecycle for a couple of Costco diapers to try them out.
I've never tried Costco diapers but I have been using Target brand for over a year and I really like them. They sell "club boxes" of the Target brand and are very competitively priced in my area.
I like Target, though I have been using Luvs lately because I got a great price. A friend uses the diapers from Costco and loves them, no rashes or anything. The only thing I do not like about the Target diapers is th epolka dots, they show through now that my daughter is all over the place (2 1/2). I kinda wish the dots were only on the waist.
With my daughter (now 2) we used an off brand from Sam's Club called Member's Mark. With my 2 month old son, I am now using cloth diapers with Thirsties diaper shells, and cannot tell you how great they are! (I also use a flushable cloth diaper liner for when there is poo involved) They are super easy and cloth is really something you only have to buy once, as long as you get enough of them. If you don't have a washer and dryer I do not recomend trying it though. With disposables, the Sam's Club brand cost a lot less and worked wonderfully. But honestly, you couldn't pay me to go back to disposables.
i like the sam's club brand. they are cheaper & effective.
I have a daycare and my suggestion is the Target brand Up & Up!
For our daughter, we were happy with the White Cloud diapers, that I believe is only at Wal-Mart. They weren't as effective for our son, but that was 7 & 4 years ago. They'd be worth a try!
We are a Huggies family, but my friend used Costco diapers and really liked them.
For my sons, we've used Pampers up to about size two, then went to the Target brand. My two-year-old is still in them (size four, Target) and they even hold up through the night.
I like the polka dots. I also get a lot of positive comment about them being cute when other mamas see them.
Pampers always has coupons and lately my Target has been printing them out at the register, too. These can be used together.
I used costco's Kirkland brand diaper with zero problems. They did not appear in anyway different than name brands. We buy the kirkland wipes too, best deal and a nice soft wipe that doesn't feel like it a generic wipe!
Has she looked on Amazon.com for diapers? They're having 30% off for a limited time with free shipping to your house on many name brand diapers like Huggies and Pampers. I have gotten hooked on the savings! : )
Anyhow, with a baby that young, I never used anything other then the Pampers or Huggies since my kids were so prone to diaper rash. Good luck!
If she really wants to save $, would she consider cloth or even cloth hybrids?I'm doing this with my 3rd and LOVING it, especially helping the environment.
The easiest to use is an AIO (all-in-one) diaper that velcros on and the whole thing is tossed in the wash. I recommend Bum Genius. Nicki's Diapers offers 15 day trials.
Bum Genius also makes pocket diapers, which are stuffed with a more absorbent cloth insert or two - BG 4.0's, which will hold more liquid; I have a set of these I use at night for less frequent changes (4:30 a.m.).
Then there are the hybrid systems, where you use a cloth cover with a cloth insert OR a biodegradable pulp insert. The cloth cover can usually be used a few times a day; I alternate between 2-3 covers/day. There are 3 systems I know of: Bum Genius FLIP (one size, adjusted by snaps, so you buy once), GroVia (also one size, adjusted by snaps), and gDiapers (3 sizes). I use the G's and the GroVia. I use the cloth inserts at home, the biodegradable/flushable disposable inserts when out. THIS is what sold the G's to me: http://www.amazon.com/gDiapers-Ruffle-Little-gPants-Mediu... The ruffle bums are discontinued due to new colors but they still have some here.
There is LESS stink, not more, with cloth. Yes, less. Wet bags are key. I alternate two XL wet bags from Monkey Foot Designs hanging from the changing table. I also use cloth terry wipes and "wipe cubes" to make my own wipe solution; this is a HUGE savings. It really takes no more time than it would to go out and buy diapers at the store. To wash, empty the wet bag into the machine (buy detergent brands you see listed on diapering websites and they are good for dipes), wash on HOT with a prewash and extra rinse. Line dry or dry in dryer. Dipes last longer if air dried, but you'll need to have a larger "stash" in order to have enough available. And, you can sell them used on diaperswappers.com.
As for the disposable inserts, the best deal out there is to sign up for Amazon Mom and get delivery; they will cost 30% less! Feel free to message me if you have questions.
We use and love the Target brand diapers. Good luck!
When my kids were newborns I only used Pampers newborn and sizes 1 and 2 because they are nice and soft. After they got a little older I switched to store brands because they are much cheaper. I like Kroger brand but I have also tried Target and Walmart. If you want to buy in bulk you could go with Costco.
Some people on here use cloth but to me it just seems like it would be so messy and I already do enough laundry!! But I guess it is just a matter of preference.
