I have a 19mth little girl who is very social and I would like to put her into some tumbling classes with children her age so she can socialize aswell as help her develop her motor skills in a more fun way. She loves to climb all over the place and run so my husband and I really want to put her im something like tumbling. Like most people these days, the income is not what it use to be because I stay hm with my baby so we are lookign for a place that is clean and the staff is friendly but also wont brake our bank. In the same token with summer here we want to get Mia into swim lessons for the purpose ofcourse which is her saftey as well as getting her to enjoy the water more....does anyone have any suggestons?? Thanks ~ Jess

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your great suggestions! I actually took Mia to Saddleback college. They have a " college for Kids " during summer time which offers 8 sessions M-Th ( so 2 wks) for $ 53. I didnt really like it but I think Mia needs one on one lessons because of her age.My friend told me about this and swears by them. Her girls are older so they benefit more....Im gonna try the little gym and my gym! Thanks again ladies for all your help ....Jess

Check out Cal Elite in Rancho Santa Margarita. They offer tumbling/gymnastics, swimming, dance and more. For tumbling, Little Gym and My Gym are also good. You can usually swim through your local community center or the YMCA.

The YMCA offers both summer swim and gymnastics classes at a VERY good rate. Check out the YMCA website to see what is offered in your area. I think the YMCA swim lessons were only about $5-6 per lesson but you have to buy the whole seesion (about $45) but compared to private lessons at $25 per lesson, it is a steal!

Cal elite or my gym are great for tumbling. You can also do open gym at cal elite. Both are in RSM. Wild child water play is a really good mommy and me swim program (it's at the nadadores pool).

in chicago the park district does swim lessons and alot of times they are free because the life guards in training need the hours to get certified. check with your local park districts and see if the ones that have pools offer something like that. i also send my kids to the park for tumbling and arts and crafts. maybe you could do the same. good luck

I have been both to My Gym and Gymboree and they both offer awesome tumbling classes for kids. However, the cost about $74-84 a month. We discovered that our city parks and recreation department offers classes as well for a little less, but they don't seem to have the vast equipment the gyms do. So, you may want to check your city's parks and recreation department to see what they offer.
As for swimming lessons I absolutely loved Waterworks in Irvine. They teach the children in a very warm, enclosed, salt water pool and the instructors are just amazing. However, they do cost a pretty penny. We were able to get some great quotes from Swim Venture, which has a variety of locations, but honestly I have not heard as many great comments on their program for little ones. Another option is to also check your city parks and recreation department for swim classes. They would be far more reasonable.

Have you tried your local recreation center? I found this for you http://cityofmissionviejo.org/ You can also try the YMCA. Over here in Huntington Beach, we have excellent tumbling classes and swim programs through our city. Good luck!
