Difference Between Regular and Mini Side Rails for Convertible Cribs

My sister in law bought my daughter a convertible crib for her 1st birthday and she has never slept in it. She would wake up in the middle of the night and cry out until either my husband or I got up to take her to bed with us. We started to think she would never sleep in her own bed, but for the past 2 months, she's been sleeping in my lounge chair. I really don't want her to sleep there so I want to get a side rail for her crib but I can't find it in any store.

Have any of you either bought one from the store, or online? I'm the kind of person who likes to see/ feel/ hold what I am buying and I don't feel confident buying online because I hate having to go back and return it. I've seen a lot of "Mini side rails" and regular "side rails" and can anyone tell me the difference? Is it longer?Shorter?Smaller? Any kind of advice would help as this is the first time I've ever dealt with this.

Thanks in advance!

we never used side rails of any kind....

not sure why you need them, you can put the mattress on the floor if you are worried about falling...

find ot where she bought it and buy toddler rails for a toddler bed or full size rails for a full size bed- u should be able to call where she bought it or the manufactuer for the coorect rail. FOR INSTANCE-both y kids ahve convertible cribs which can go from crib to toddler bed to full size which all require different rails in which we purchased whn we bought the crib. L.:)

My personal preference is that no rails be used. That's because my kids were always climbers. If I had put rails on their beds, they would simply have climbed over them and had a longer fall than if they fell straight from the bed. My solution was to have a safe landing on the floor for when they did happen to roll out of the bed. This can be as simple as several blankets folded to give a little bit of cushion beside the bed where a child would land. If you already have carpeting with good padding in the room, it won't take much extra to make it a soft landing. If you want to get more elaborate, put a foam mat or mattress beside the crib at night.

I am not sure the difference, but you should look up baby furniture stores in your area to see if they have the bed rails.
If you look on amazon.com for convertible crib bed rails, they should have some reviews of the bed rails and you could get some feedback from there.
