I use fresh dill with fish, in borscht, in spanakopita, tzatziki, in dip and to make pickles. I grow it in the garden and my kids like to chew on it. It hasn't made them like sugar any less.
Sooo,
I read a blog post on how to beat my sugar addiction here:http://inmyownstyle.com/2014/07/how-to-beat-sugar-addicti...
After reading I was off to search for Dill oil. While shopping at the fruit market I stumbled upon the dill herb which had such a strong smell so I purchased it thinking it may do the trick as well!
I have googled what do you season with the herb but I am more interested in your personal experiences. What have you cooked with it lately?

Dill is my absolute favorite herb! Like Canuck I use it as much as possible. I make dill bread, use it in shrimp salad or potato salad, heatsink, etc. Still love sugar too!
Oh, dill is great! I use dill weed in any Eastern European dish (borscht-beet-cabbage-potato soup), eggs, Turkish dishes, salads, ... There are lots of uses for it. Now, you probably need to see whether using the herb to season a dish really will work the same way as taking the oil in whatever way the blog recommended. Don't assume they will work the same way.
ETA: B reminded me that dill goes really well in anything with cucumbers. It also is a natural in yogurt--dressings, dips, soups, etc. During the hot summer, those foods are so cooling!
ETA2: Ditto to dill on salmon, as Talkstotrees said!
Never heard of it for sugar addiction; how interesting!
I love dill on fish. It also makes a fabulous no-guilt dip with Nancy's nonfat yogurt and a little garlic salt. Especially great over potatoes, or over cut cucumbers.
I use it with chicken and fish, and in salads.
At work, I use it as the herb in my fresh spring rolls sometimes, especially if I am making them with avocado and smoked salmon. Dill and salmon is like peanut butter and jelly for me :)
I often use dill in potato salad. Instead of the typical creamy dressing with mayo and egg, we often use a dressing that calls for oil, rice vinegar, onion, dill, mage some pickle relish and some bacon on gold yukon potatoes. Tasty!
Dill in cucumber salad is pretty good.
There are also many dill dips and salad dressings recipes.
I've grown dill in my garden before but I rarely get to use it since it's a favorite food for the Black Swallowtail Butterfly (they eat parsley too) - and I grow a lot of plants for the sake of butterflies!
If dill (and other herbs/seasonings) helps you, then Great!
But you can also de-program your tongue by just not eating anything that's sweet for a month or two (this means fruit/fruit juice too since it naturally has a high sugar content).
If you taste something really sweet that you use to like after a long time of being sugar free - it'll taste horrible.
Consider other herbs and spices too but try not to go to heavy into salt.
I like garlic, oregano and curry.
I like it on chicken and pork chops.
I make a salad dressing using dill weed and that's the only time I've ever used it.
I add dill to my cheese borek, or to my spanikotiropita.
Best, F. B.
I use dill for my salmon marinade. It is always a "hit" and people ask for the recipe often.
Salmon Marinade
1/4 Cup Olive Oil
4T Dill, chopped
3T White Wine Vinegar
1T Diijon Mustard
2 cloves Garlic, chopped
Makes enough to marinade 2 pounds of fish
Marinade fish for a half hour before grilling
**I always use a lot more dill than the recipe calls for
