so I'm in the middle of transferring the wet clothes to the dryer and I see that a diaper got in there and exploded that gell stuff all over. Should I just dry it and hope it gets caught up in the lint tray or rewash?

What can I do next?

Here's a web site that suggests you can dry them but also suggests washing them again with salt. When you dry the clothes the beads collect in the lint trap. When you wash them with salt they dissolve.

I googled disposable diaper in wash and found several sites that deal with this.

It will be fine in the dryer. My son wheres pullups at night, and he has tossed them into the hamper on more than one occasion. You'd think my husband and I would be more careful since he's been known to do this, but we've had a few slip by unnoticed.

We just throw the clothes in the dryer and haven't had any issues.

ETA - I think I need to eat my words. I just folded a load that had, what looks like, little fuzzies all over it. I'm thinking it might have been a better idea to rewash and then dry. It's not a big deal, but washing it again probably would have helped.

I washed a Pull-Up last year and it was a nightmare, but here's what I did:
1.Get the big lumps out by hand and put the clothes into the dryer on "Air Only", no heat.
2. Wipe out washer and rewash clothes with half of a container of salt, no soap.
3. Clean out dryer and screen and dry again on "Air Onl
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until clothes are desicant free.
5. Clean washer (you can use a load of hot water, long agitate time and bleach if yours doesn't have a special "Clean" setting).
6. Final wash of clothes with soap and regular dry.
Good luck!

Sounds worse than my kids' tissues left in their pants pockets, Jane!

Also sounds worse than washing my son's wallet, which I did this morning. Why did I do that? LOL! Well, at least his money is clean!

Hope you get it all out!

I had this lovely situation a couple times too. I just shook the clothes out over a blanket on the floor and then rewashed them and then tossed them in the dryer with no prob. They might be just fine just in the dryer though, that is just how I handled it and it worked great.
