Do You Get Sensitive During That Time of the Month? Any Fixes for It?

I notice I get very sensitive when I'm PMSing and I dislike it so much. I have a difficult time handling our daughter's already challenging ways. Even dealing with other people, which isn't quite as bad as my dd because I can just walk away from other people. But like today a guy acquintance I usually talk to seemed very blunt toward and acted as if he was mad about something. I walked away feeling a little confused about his grumpy attitude and 'sensitive' about it. But then reminded myself that I am PMSing and that is probably all it is. My physical symptoms are also bothersome to me - sometimes cramping, but in the beginning I get a minor back pain that aches for about 1-2 days. Very strange. And usually I won't be able to sleep well at night either. So today I feel completely exhausted b/c I didn't sleep well last night and it was raining so I laid awake to make sure my kids slept through it without needing me.
But after I talked to the guy, I walked away feeling like 'what did I do to make him act grumpy.' So I've been rehashing that now. :)
PMS go away!
I take some herbal stuff and use some progesterone cream and estrogen cream. My levels were off when I was tested. So I've been hoping with each month that I'll feel better during PMS, but still same symptoms.
Any ideas for how to deal with the PMS emotions?

Thanks!!!

So What Happened?

You guys are so funny!

Husband is out of town until next week for work.....so he's not even here - no getting horny resolution for me !! :)

Thank you so much for the vit B suggestion. I went looking through my vitamins just now and found a B6 so I took that. I think I may have the B complex somewhere too. If not, I'm buying some of those 2. I'm excited about the b complex and calcium being so successful for you. That's an easy fix. I'll be doing that for sure.

I have been taking 2000iu of Vitamin D for a while. My blood levels showed low in Vit D. It has really made a difference in my sleep. I sleep much better. Except for last night. I think last night was insomnia related to pms.
I just saw a study to where vit d helps the immune system.

I have posted about this many times before, but it's worth repeating. My doctor suggested B-complex vitamins taken along with calcium. I've been taking them for a year or so now, and the results are incredible. My PMS is completely gone. I can't even tell when I'm going to start my period unless I look at a calendar. My doctor did say that it works great for some women, and others don't benefit at all, but it's a miracle for me. My PMS was awful. I hope you find something that works for you. :)

Personally... I get horny. Really, really horny. And if that's not taken care of THEN I get sensitive. But if I've been sick or injured or something so haven't taken care of that issue, I don't even notice that I'm horny. I just go straight into touchy, sensitive, crampy, unhappy.

So I try and take care of my base problem. :) :) :) Doesn't work with all women... but 2 of my good friends have found out that a little release once or twice a day means that most of the rest of their PMS symptoms (like mine) go poof. NOT true for everyone. But something to consider.

Angela G. hit the nail on the head. I use a liquid B complex I get from the health food store. I also make certain I'm watching and reducing my sugar and salt intake prior to that time of the month. I also try to get in some vigorous exercise which helps so very much. Vigorous meaning 15-20 minutes a day of running, jumping jacks, jumping rope or dancing with wild abandon. All of these things help when I do any combination of them.

If I stay away from Simple Carbs and sugar (no crackers, cookies, not a lot of bread, etc.) the I literally have no sensitivity issues... it's like NIGHT AND DAY from when I'm eating 'junk' right before my period.

For the back/tummy aches, I use an herbal heating pad. I love it and it really does help, although I don't get major cramps like some people do.

For the sensitive feeling and being easily irritable, I just do a lot of internal processing and let things roll, even if I am steaming inside. A lot of 'self talk' to keep myself calm and not freaking out. I also try and assume that the person did not intentionally try to offend me, and such. It helps, like if a person cuts me off on the road, I tell myself, "They are probably in a hurry b/c they may have diabetes or something and really need to rush home to go pee." It actually helps me be more sympathetic even when I am not pmsing. :)

Try some raspberry tea. It helps to calm hormones.
