Do You Love Your Vacuum?

I'm looking for a new vacuum. I hear a lot about the Dyson "ball" vacuums. Does anyone have one that they'd recommend? Especially looking for one that works well on hardwood floors. Thanks!

What can I do next?

I have 2 Dysons. I have a small Dyson ball for downstairs - it works great on my hardwood and marble flooring and area rugs that I have down there. Then I have a Dyson canister vacuum for upstairs (all carpeted, plus stairs). I love both of them and would recommend them!

I have a shark. I will admit I have never tried the Dyson but since the Shark sucks up everything I can't imagine the Dyson can suck up more than everything, ya know?

I recently bought the Shark Navigator Lift Away and I LOVE it! I have 3 dogs and a long-haired cat that all live in the house. Only one room has carpet. I could never seem to get all the hair off the hard floors! They still ended up in my mop water. But now, this thing takes care of them in a snap! I absolutely love it. It works wonderfully on the carpet and hard floors. The suction is better than any vacuum I've ever had. I wanted a Dyson, but it was just out of my price range. This one works quite well and it's a fraction of the price. I ordered from the infomercial and got the Steam Mop as well. In retail stores, the warranty is only 5 years. Buying direct comes with a 10 year warranty. I would totally recommend it to anyone with hard floors or animals.

I have the Dyson Drive and if it blew up tomorrow, I'd go get the Ball in a heartbeat! I use my Dyson on tile, wood & carpeting--all handled easily by the Dyson.

I own a Miele. BEST vacuum ever. Worth every penny. It is quiet and versatile. I even use it on walls and ceilings when I spot cobwebs. Awesome for allergies.

Miele - I use it on my kitchen tile floors, hardwoods and carpet. Cleans better than any other vacuum I've had.

I just bought a Hoover Windtunnel $250 (with bag) it was the number one rated vacuum by Consumer Reports, rated a lot better than the Dyson... at half the price, (of some models) And I love it, My Uncle recommended it to me he LOVES his, he and my Aunt are those obsessive types that only buy the best. My Carpet looks brand new and it worked great on my tile, I don't have wood floors but I'm sure it would be fine. and it is self propelled so it is very easy to use. CR also recommended the bag over the bagless vac for allergies because when you empty the bagless you tend to spread the dust back into the air. I saved a lot of $$$ and have great floors, so I'm very happy!

ps I got my at Target online free delivery right to my door, so I saved time/gas and money!

We have a Dyson DC24 and it has a button that disables the roller brush for hard surfaces. The suction area is 12 inches, which is handy for getting under chairs and tables. My only complaint is that the vacuum is not heavy enough to stay put while using the wand extension, and the vacuum is pulled every time you stretch the hose. For this reason, I would have paid the extra $100 for a DC25. The DC25 is a 16 inch wide suction area.

I have a dyson dc 25 animal(purple w/a ball). Love it, love it. love it!! Anybody who has borrowed it has gone and bought one. I have had it for 3 years now & it still works like a champ. Super user friendly. Do your research though. There is a yellow one that is the same as the animal only doesn't have the attachment to clean the couches. It is about $50 cheaper. It has the same filters & same suction. I have not used a broom since I got my dyson. Again, I LOVE it. Happy shopping:)
