Hi, I have a 18 month old daughter, who loves to play and I'm already a member of Ballys, but I never brought my daugther to the child care at the facility. I typically use the Ballys at 6 corners, Irving Park, Milwakee, Cicero Ave. With mine and my husbands work schedule, I would work out more if I could bring her along. But I want to make sure it's also fun (and safe) for her. Does anyone know if there's more kids at a specfic time?, does anyone think in favor of another location? Any advice about the kid care in general.....

I haven't been to the 6 corners location, but used the Kid Care at several other Bally's and I have never had any problems. My son actually loves going to "the babysitter room" because they have cartoons and toys!
Thanks for the responses, everyone. I haven't taken my girls there b/c I didn't feel like it was secure at all (room is right by the front door). Also, I wasn't sure how much English the caretakers spoke. I will try the Webster or Rogers Park location instead. Glad to know I'm not the only one who felt uneasy w/the situation.

I use that Bally's..or did more before our little guy was born. :) I bought a treadmill to have at home because I wasn't too fond of the childcare setup there. The child care area is right next to the front doors (outside of the member swipe in) and there is no monitoring system where you workout downstairs. Some of the other Bally's have the childcare areas right next to the workout areas plus TVs where you can monitor the children inside. Just my thoughts. :)

My husband takes our 14 months old baby girl to the Mount Prospect Ballys, the lady who works on weekends is very nice. They have a lot of toys and there's always other kids there that she can play with, we don't have any complains! They usually call him if she needs a diaper change that's about it! I would sugges that you take your daughter and try the facility for yourself! Every place is different and it all depends on the carer too!! Good luck!
hi A.! i have never been to your specific ballys but the webster and rogers park kids clubs are awesome. i go out of my way to take my 18 month old to the webster kids club. he loves the girls that work there. skokie's is fine too but, they have called me out of my workout when my son would cry. no other kid's club employees had a problem with him crying. the rogers park kid's club has at least one tv set up showing the kid's club too. hope that helps. totally trustworthy.
Hey there! That's the Bally's we use, and it's great. Maria and Myrna are both sweet and good with my daughter. I started bringing her in there around 12-13 months old, and she's 2 1/2 now. At first, she would fuss a little when I'd leave (30 sec - 2 mins), but Maria and Myrna would hold her and care for her until she quieted down. Now, she's totally comfortable there, and even looks forward to playing in the playhouse they have, and sitting at the little picnic table. She talks about Myrna and Maria, too, when we're at home, and "calls them" on her pretend phone.
You have to call 2 days in advance to set up a time, especially if it's a busy day/time (like during a step class, for example). You'll get a set of the guidelines when you go in there for the first time.

I went to try it out with my child, and went alone just to observe the child care. First, the person who was watching the kids didnt speak english, and then i noticed, they kept changing people every 20 mins. which I felt wasn't safe, and yea also it was close to the exit. But this was just my experience and bought a treadmill for home. Some places might be better.
