Hello right now my OB is Dr. Davolio and I'll be delivering at medical center of plano I would love to hear about your experience with birthing at mcp or if you had Dr Davolio as your OB how was she? Is she Natural child birth friendly? also if she was your OB please tell me what kinda of birth you had a c section? A natural med free vaginal birth? Or a vaginal birth with pain relief etc. I would like to have a natural twin birth but the little I've read about mcp it doesn't look promising :(

Thanks

What can I do next?

My doctor is Lisa Umholtz, but my daughter came early while she was out of town so Dr. Heather Licker delivered my daughter. This was 3 years ago at MCP. The nurses were fabulous, especially the nurse that was with me for the majority of my labor.
The one thing I will emphasize is that if you have special requests or concerns, be sure to make them very clear to each nurse and more than once. I went through all the trouble to make a detailed birth plan, and I don't think anyone ever even looked at it once I got to the hospital. I ended up just verbalizing to them what was really important to me.
That being said, the nurses were great about explaining everything to me and asking my opinion on what to do next, like when to get the epidural. I held out on the epidural as long as possible, but after being in active labor for 24 hours, I finally gave in.
My aftercare was also great. I had no problems with BF nazis bothering me, but then again, I had already chosen to BF anyways. I had alot of trouble getting my daughter to latch on, and the lactation consultant came in and helped me.
Overall, I highly recommend MCP for childbirth. Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy.

I too see Dr Davolio and had my almost 4 year old at MCP. This was my second child and was the better of the two births (my first son was born at a different hospital). I love Dr. Davolio and the nurse I had was awesome!!! She was attentive without being too much in your face. They let me walk around and do whatever I needed to do to be comfortable during the labor pains. I did end up having an epidural and as soon as I asked for it, they responded. Dr. Davolio was calm, reassuring, and just great! Have you talked about your birthing plan yet? I would just talk to her to let her know what you want to do and she can tell you what she will do if the need arises such as when a c-section becomes a must, etc. Every delivery is different and that's why it's good to say I want this...unless I need this. Good luck!!!

I do not know your Dr. but I am very familiar with Medical Center of Plano.

I had my daughter there 17 yrs ago. I was induced with pitocin about 8am and she was delivered at 6pm sharp. Yes, I had the epidural. My only negative regarding the childbirth experience was that the BF nazi would not leave me alone. My husband called security and my Dr told them to GET OUT. I had made a decision best for MY family and I still harbour some resentment from the undue pressure this groups puts on all new moms. Hopefully, they are better about that now... especially after our experience and involving security.

My husband was almost killed in an auto accident 16 yrs ago and he was cared for at Medical Center of Plano. I cannot say enough about the quality of Dr's and care he received. He was in ICU 2 days and came home in 4 days. The staff and Dr.'s were above and beyond with quality of care.

I had my hysterectomy there 10 yrs ago... BEST thing I ever did for myself. No issues whatsoever and again... I could not be more pleased with the quality of the staff, Dr.'s and care I was given.

Medical Center of Plano is our go to spot if we need care unless something were to happen that would create a need for a more specialized place.

Good luck.

I've been seeing Dr. Davolio for 10 years and love her. She delivered my one child 5 years ago and all was perfect. Loved the hospital as well. I had a regular childbirth but I love her. She's always attentive and spends as much time as I need during my annual visits to simply "catch up" on things :)

You should really ask your OB how she handles twins. If you want to look for a midwife, I've delivered my 2nd kid with Aliza Chkaiban who works under Lawrence Pierce. Their office is at Baylor McKinney.

She delivered my son 6 yrs ago and she didn't follow my birth plan at all and that's one thing I didn't approve of plus she didn't let me see my son after he was born...took him right to cleaning and weighing. Afterwards she let me hold him 10 min then took him to the nursery as she said they have to be there a certain amt of time after birth. I liked her but she didn't do anything I wanted and got very depressed after birth.

I have DR Mos, who is in the same practice. I will deliver my 3rd child at MCP. It will be my 2nd delivery at that hospital. I like the hospital and loved the L&D nurses. No issues.
