Any recommendations on dressers for children with easy to open (and close) drawers? My children are 3 and 5 and share a fairly small bedroom.

What can I do next?

Ikea!!! We got these small dressers from there for my kids when they were 3 and 4 and they get their own clothes out. They're 5 and 6 now, still use them.

They were bought years ago, but my stepkids still have the IKEA dressers DH bought them when they moved in this house. I'd take the kids to an IKEA, if you have one nearby, and check out their kids' furniture.

I'll second IKEA. My son has a HEMNES dresser and it's a dream. Even in their lower price point products, they keep the high quality drawer tracks.

Take your kids with you to an IKEA and have them test them out... then drop them off at Smalland for free childcare while you shop in earnest :)

Ikea. We have 2 different brands and both are great!

I second IKEA's products.
Functional, decently sturdy, and value for money.

It looks like there is a consensus. Both of my kids have IKEA dressers (they are two and three years old) and both can work their dresser perfectly.

Sounds like Ikea dressers are the way to go LOL. I don't have an Ikea close enough to make it worth going. I got mine from Pottery Barn Kids. My 3yo has no problems opening and closing the drawers and it's a beautiful piece. It's really well made too. I've seen some kids furniture that was just really crappy but I think this will probably last until she moves out. Hopefully when she goes to college LOL.

Well, I'm going to pile on to the IKEA suggestion. LOL My girls both have tiny rooms, but we installed IKEA closet systems for them, and the drawers are very easy to open and close. Plus, they have drawer organizers that are designed to fit inside the drawers that help keep everything organized. It works well for us!

since they are so young have you looked into those plastic drawers. They come in several sizes and open and close fairly smoothly. I know they don't look great BUT with kids that young, you do want something you don't want to worry about getting messed up, ie drawn on, stickers up on etc.

something like this but take the wheels off. http://www.target.com/p/sterilite-wide-3-drawer-cart-whit...
