If you remember where you purchased it from, I would try calling there first. We had a crib that was recalled and they had us return the key hardware - brackets, bolts, etc. and then destroy/throw out the four sides.

Since its been 4+ years, I would probably just buy a new non-drop one at this point.

See if it's made by Simplicity. That's what it looks like when I did a quick search. If so, it looks like you might be able to return it to the store where you got it for a credit. Simplicity is no longer in business. And it looks like there was a problem with the mattress support along with the drop sides now being banned. Double whammy it is a Simplicity.

We had a recalled crib. The cribs that were recalled were the jenny lind by evenflo. Check with walmart but I don't remember seeing that type being recalled.

I would contact Wal-mart or the manufacturer. I think some manufacturers had repair kits. A friend of mine bought a crib at Wal-mart in 2006, used it for their daughter, and ended up getting a $100 store gift certificate to Wal-mart when the crib was recalled last year.
