I have a double ear infection and have been on antibiotics for 5 days. But I still have that bubble issue in my ear. Is there anything else I can do to get rid of it?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I called the Dr. and he said that the infection is likely gone, but the effect could last 3-4 weeks. I am trying to stay calm and work through it.. Hope that it gets better soon. Thank your for all your advise.

this is so funny reading this today......
Last year I had an ear infection, hearing loss and all.My hearing came back, but I developed a tinitus, a permanent ear noise, really annoying.
It does take a few month before it will go away...............

M.-
I have had patients in very similar situations to yours. Many times an adjustment to the neck helps the ear to drain. If the deep neck muscles are in spasm the lymph cannot drain and it can get backed up an lead to a non-resolving ear infection. Just to be clear I am not diagnosing you but offering advise that a wellness chiropractor might be a great second opinion for you. If you have further questions feel free to message me back, otherwise check out www.icpa4kids.org. The website has a list of chiropractors so you can find one in your area.
Best of Luck

As you had a double ear infection it will take a while to get rid of that sensation. I had a double ear infection at the end of my 2nd pregnacy and I could not hear at all , people had to look at me when they were talking otherwise I did not know they were speaking. The initial pain stopped after taking a couple of doses of the antibiotics , but that feeling last for around 3 weeks , I went back to the doctor and my ears were clear but still red & inflamed from the infection and this is what causes that feeling. Doctor said there was nothing I could do , I just had to let it go by itself.

Pretty much during my whole pregnancy I had this bubble in my ear and it would go away and come right back. As soon as I had my son it went away and I haven't had it since. Are you pregnant? I think it is fluid buildup or pressure. Maybe taking some benedryl might help dry it up. I'm not quite sure.

My eustacion (not sure if that's spelled right) tube in my right ear has been sealed shut for like a month and a 1/2!! It started with severe pain occasionally and I have been taking sudafed (the behind the counter kind) and guiafisen (again with the spelling), every day. I was also told to do that move that divers use (hold your breath and pinch your nose and breath out) to try and unplug/pop the bubble. I also have been using garlic-mullien drops in my ears when they start to hurt again to ward off infection. UGH!! All I know is I smell like garlic and am really happy I haven't had to ride on a plane.

I feel your pain sister. These things are supposed to work, and maybe they will work better for you! Wish me luck!

You can put onion juice directly in the ear to get rid of the pain quick and the infection. I just did this for myself and my daughter and we wiped it out within 2 days without taking antibiotics. I steamed the onion with the skin on and then squeezed the juice right out but you can google this for more tips and suggestions. Then you just drop in a few drops right into the ear. It doesn't hurt if its at room temp and cooked or steamed - basically just not raw. Good luck!
