Entertainment for in Home Birthday Party?

My daughter will turn three in March and wants nothing more than to have her preschool class over for a birthday party. I'm danted by the task of keeping a dozen 3 and 4 year olds busy for two hours. Can anyone reccomend an entertainer that perhaps helps in organizing activities and keeps the party on schedule? I'm in the East Bay area, specifically Oakland.

What can I do next?

We used Dora (the junior one, they have two) from http://www.firepixie.com/ for our daughter's third birthday last year. We had about a dozen kids ages 2 to 7 (boys and girls) there and she was great. My daughter still talks about when the real Dora came to her house. The same woman also does Snow White. We used the Jedi Knight for our son's 5th birthday. He wasn't as good, but then he had 17 5year old boys with light sabers to deal with. They will do their little "act" and then face painting and balloons. Enjoy!

Hey S.,

Check out Bay Area Parent for party planning, entertainers, face painters etc.
http://bayareaparent.parenthood.com/

you can find the actual magazine all over the Bay Area.
Also, with that many children costs can add up even for a stay at home party. You might be better off (sanity wise) to have a party at a place like Habitot (really cute parties) and the kids can take advantage of the museum (the art area is fabulous for parties) we went to a couple in the room with the kitchen which was great! you can bring your own food in (costco run)
habitot.org
Even Oakland zoo and Fairyland do nice parties at reasonable prices. We recently went to a swim party at the Y which was really fun and inexpensive too.
Good Luck!

S.,

You might consider having Music Together teacher come over and do a mini-class. They will bring instruments, great music to dance to and all sorts of other fun songs etc... They are all very talented and probably not to expensive for a class.

Good luck,

Take a look at The Buddy Club. They are online - they do all kinds of great party entertainment. Magicians, balloon making, face painting, etc. http://www.thebuddyclub.com/

One option is to bring in a Music Together teacher to do a session with the kids (you can say how long but is often 30-45 minutes long). They can engage both the kids and adults and have lots of fun. Check out www.eastbaymusictogether.com for more info.

Good luck, B.
