It can be a great tool, just be warned that once you sign up they expect you to keep paying and deduct it out of your account. So if you no longer need the service you have to be VERY prompt and cancel.
I'm looking for after school care for my children and was wondering if anybody has had any experience with care.com? Any feedback?
Thanks,
S.

We used care.com a few years ago to replace a sitter we had found on craigslist. We got sooo lucky with our craigslist ad (we found a sitter who was a NICU nurse who wanted to work more since she only worked 3 days a week). Anyway, we found a local girl on care.com. I think the website was very useful...we just didn't do the best job interviewing the girl and ended up having to let her go after a few months because of being unreliable. In terms of using care.com though....I'd recommend it. It's a safe and easy way to recruit sitters. Good luck!
I know many people who found families to nanny for over the summer on Care. They are all pleased with the families, except one - the family is very last minute and often doesn't pay on time. She finished up with them and won't go back.
The families have requested that the girls all return next summer, so I'd say it was a positive experience for all. :)
We found our nanny on care.com. Very highly recommend it. But be aware when your subscription is up. Because they'll automatically renew it unless you email them to 'officially cancel it.' Other than that we have a great nanny working for us now an I plan to use care.com again if she ever leaves us. :)
We used sittercity.com two years ago and have the same girl still. She is amazing and loves our kids...plus they love her. We use her for early mornings versus after school and she has never been late or called out. She is a God send! I recommend it.
