Has anyone's toddlers had alot of trouble while getting their eye teeth? My daughter has one that is barely starting to come through (I can only see a little white, but her finger is constantly there, so I'm alomost positive she getting one) and she cried/whined all day today. I felt so bad that it was causing her so much pain and nothing seemed to help much. I tried teething tablets (which have never worked for her) and motrin (which worked for about an hour). She seemed to be so miserable all day. Has anyone experienced this with their toddlers? Has anyone found anything that works? Thanks Moms!

What can I do next?

My daughter didn't have too much trouble cutting those teeth, but her molars really bothered her. I did what my parents did for me. I dipped my finger in a bottle of whiskey and rubbed it on her gums, then let her chew on a frozen wash cloth.
(I did try tylenol and orajel.....it just didn't work)

I seem to remember these being hard to cut. Have you tried abesol or something cold like a popcicle?

Just hope it comes through soon!

The ER doc told me to never use the teething tablets they are made from Bella Donna and it is a poison if overused. They can cause irritability, crankiness, restlessness, etc....

K had a hard time teething and the only thing that worked was an old fashioned teething ring, well several, one in the freezer, one in the fridge thawing out a bit, and one in her mouth.

Most of my children preferred a wet washcloth to suck/chew on rather than an frozen teething ring (they didn't like holding something so cold)

My youngest chewed on a munchkin teether feeder

I usually put peeled apple slices and some cold fresh mint from my garden, he loved it

I have a little guy going through the same thing. He was really crabby for a day or two when they were cutting through. They still aren't all the way in, but his mood is better. My mother in law suggested I let him hold a bag of frozen vegetables. She does daycare and uses oragel a lot. We've done the frozen wash teething ring and ended up with tylenol because he started to get a temp. That finally worked when it kicked in. Lots of cuddling from mommy seemed to be the best medicine. Good luck!

Nothing has seemed to work, we are just waiting, she likes to chew on hard things not anything cold so could try that. Washcloth we did before but still didn't like it, I even chewed on one but she didn't like the cold. Teething tablets worked on the other teeth but not these ones ugg! With the the tylenol recalls out there, we stopped using that, we let her fight the fever for a bit then use tylenol its good to let their body fight it off. I know others disagree just stating what I think.

I agree with the other moms lot of snuggles with mom sometimes she ends up in bed with us due to her not being able to settle down then when she goes to sleep back to the crib she goes.

Good luck I hope our teething ends soon too!

Uhg! I just put my son (14 mos)back to bed AGAIN tonight because of the same thing. He has always been a bad teether. Same as you he has been super clingy and cranky for the last couple of days. I give him his tooth brush to chew on during the day. It seems to offer some relief and distraction. frozen banana slices work well too they melt fast though and can get messy. Oh and Other than that good luck to you momma.

Freeze a wet corner of a wash cloth. this is good cause the dry part is easy to hold.
the oragel can work but not always.

Ora jel ! And motrin or tylenol (for children). Temporary relief - put wet wash cloth in freezer and let your little one chew on it right out of the freezer.

Yes, the "eye" teeth are just about the most difficult to come through. I had to use a combination of motrin and oragel, which helped quite a bit.

I think you mean "I" teeth as in incisors. I would give her a teether or some of those teething cookies. You could also rub them with your clean finger. Good luck, it sounds like you are a caring parent!
