I'm planning our family beach vacation for 2012. Does anyone know of a kid friendly resort they would recommend, preferably all inclusive? We are looking to go to either Mexico or the Carribean. We like the white (soft) sand and all inclusive for convenience. My kids are 2yr, 4yr, and 5yr so a kid friendly place works best. We went to Cabo last year and had a great time the only issue was the sand is rough and the waves are little too rough for the kids. We've been to Destin, FL. and it was ok...but hubby prefers the atmosphere of being in a different country.

Dreams Cancun, is all inclusive, has a very good kids club that keeps them busy and happy most of the day + real dolphins! (extra charge)

Have not stayed there but always wanted since it has extra good reviews and everybody says that the kids (explorers) club is the best, and it's locations is excellent.

We go to Playa del Carmen to a hotel called Mahekal, but is a totally differente concept. The rooms are right on the beach, no TV. Breakfast and either luch or dinner included (not both)... we absolutely love this place, you can see their pictures on FB (this is one of my favorite places to go) love the quiet hotel, with extremely beautiful beach with very calm and clear water, soft sand, excellent service, food amazing and the fact that you can have your room just on the beach, open your door and you are literally steps away from either the pool or the sea is unbeatable.

The sand doesn't get any better than Destin, FL, believe me we've looked. But since you don't want to go there. Our 2nd favorite vacation was a cruise to Grand Cayman & Cozumel. Have you taken a cruise? Its as kid friendly as it gets. It's literally all inclusive,. Once you buy your ticket, it's paid for. (expect alcohol) Our kids ticket on a 5 night cruise was $99 each. I believe ours was $390. We had a great time.

I think there is a resort called FDR in Jamaica that is all inclusive and includes a nanny, daily! My friend who's children have severe allergies and won't even let family members babysit without her present went and said the nannies are awesome and follow your requests and guidelines to a T! :) She said it was the best vacation they ever had because they had lots of family time AND some adult time too.

Sandals in Turks and Caicos. The beach and sand is awesome and if you like to snorkel there is a reef 5 minutes walking that you can access from the beach. We saw sting rays, squid, lion fish, turtles, and lots of fish just a few yards off the shore. Its a huge resort and they have lots of childrens programs so you and your hubby can have alone time.

We have been to the Dominican twice. Porta Plata and Punta Cana. Both inclusive. Had a great time. The one in Punta Cana was more kid friendly. It was the Beaches resorts. They have several. I would recommend staying on the Carribean side of the Dominican. Its prettier! Try Sandles Resorts as well. They have kid friendly all inclusives.

Hilton Head was very family friendly and when we were there the water was very calm. Almost like a lake! Have fun!!!

We took our dgtrs to Sandals Beaches in Negril, Jamaica when they were 10 and 6. It was the best family vacation we've ever shared! The beachside pool area has 2 or 3 waterpark level slides, the lazy river was a lot of fun and there were several regular pools to swim in with plenty of room to share with all the other families. All this is just steps away from the beautiful white sand beach of Negril. We've been to Jamaica many times and the surf is never as rough as the surf in Mexico. The resort is all inclusive and the buffet has a special area for children. They have Sesame Street characters and even have a show, we went and even my 10 yr old (at that time) enjoyed it! I highly recommend any of the Sandals resorts, they will bend over backwards to make sure your stay is everything you dreamed.
