Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross comes to mind. Tears stream down my cheeks whenever I hear that song. Since your dad is still with you, I don't know if it's appropriate, but oh, what a heartrending song.
Hugs, my mother is dying of cancer as well, so I'm right there with you.
I'm sorry about your dad. I think it would be really extra special to both of you if you let him pick the song. Or ask him for some suggestions. Those songs he picks will become really extra special to you for the rest of your life wether you use them or not.
"Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman. I believe he wrote it for his own daughter's wedding. It is a beautiful song! So sorry about your father, my prayers are with you and your family.
So sorry to hear about your father. My daughters and I both love the song: 'I loved her First'
I have several I loved, but my father picked " Thank Heaven For little girls" , as he knew I'd be balling my eyes out if it was something sweet . This one is upbeat and fun.
Of course, if it was up to me I'd have had " You are my Sunshine" sang by Johnny Cash. It's a real doozy, but it's just. Wonderfully sweet, touching, and powerful song when he sings it.
Their are great ones like The Beatles " In my life", Father/daughter" by Paul Simon.
I'm sure whatever you pick or he picks will be perfect, and touching. im so sorry to hear about your father. ❤️
It's an oldie but goodie.. "turn around"....
This is going to be very special for everyone involved.
What does your dad like?
Upbeat/Motown? My Girl
Quirky? Somewhere Over The Rainbow (version by the Hawaiian singer), You've Got a Friend in Me (Randy Newman)
Classics? The Way You Look Tonight, what a Wonderful World, Unforgettable Moon River
Beatles? In My Life
60/70 rock?Tupelo Honey. You've Got a Friend (James Taylor) You Are So Beautidul to Me (Joe Cocker) Just the Two of Us
Full out sentimental? I Loved her First, Wind Beneath My Wings, Keeper of the Stars
All the best!
I danced with one of my dads to "Unforgettable." Now that he has passed away, also from cancer, it means that much more in retrospect. Another song that really touched me as a parent-child song was "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
I'm so sorry about your father but I am happy you will have this special moment together.
If you are having a band or a DJ, ask them what their suggestions are. They do hundreds of weddings and let them know the special circumstances to help choose and also so they don't say the wrong thing when you are introduced. They can let you listen to dozens of tunes to make the right choice together with your dad. Or, let your dad choose and surprise you. That can be one of his gifts to you.
I like Paul Simon's Father and Daughter. Not sure how danceable it is though.
I did Paul Simon's Father and Daughter, mentioned by another poster. It is not a typical beat that's great for dancing, but I grew up listening to Paul Simon because my dad did, so it was sentimental for me.
I would strongly recommend trying to find a singer/group that means something to you and your dad, then choosing a song they sing, rather than just picking a random song because it's good for weddings.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he's able to be there for your wedding and to dance with you.

I like Holly Dunn's Daddy Hands.
Sunrise Sunset - might be very appropriate.
We did "Wind Beneath My Wings"
