I Love the Celine Dion song "For all the love you give to me" I dedicated that to my mom too! My husband and I danced to "When I fall in Love" by Celine Dion and my father daughter dance was "Wind Beneath my Wings". I also gave a lot of consideration to Elton John's "I love you just the way you are" for my husband and I's first dance. What about "I've Had the Time of My life" from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack or "After All" by Cher & Peter Cetera.

We danced to U2's "Original of the Species" -- very non-traditional but also very fitting as we both love U2 :) There are a lot of 80s-ish ballads that might fit them like "Love of a Lifetime" or something softer like "True Companion" by Marc Cohn. My husband and I are not on the country-bandwagon (though I do like country -- my dad and I danced to "Thank God for Kids" by the Oakridge boys :) ha! and my husband danced to the hawaian version of "Somewhere over the rainbow" with his mom. We also had a Big, Formal wedding :) Enjoy the festivities!

Daddy's Hands by Holly Dunn. It is a song from a daughter to her father. Yes, it is country but it is one song!

For mom I like Have I Told You Lately by Rod Stewart. I actually used to sing it to my son all the time.

For the couple...there are so many options but the ones that are coming to mind are country. "It's Your Love" by Faith Hill and Tim McGraw and "When You Say Nothing At All" by Keith Whitely (or the remake w/ Allison Krauss) are two good options.

Then they can flood the place with all the upbeat, classic rock or contemporary they like.

We didn't do a song to honor my mom, but my husband danced with his mom to A Song For Mama by Boyz to Men, but it's definitely a song from a man to his mom.

I danced to There You'll Be by Faith Hill from Pearl Harbor movie. I loved it because it really was about how he was there for me and how he always will be.

As for the other songs. I've never heard of someone picking out all the songs for the wedding, isn't that what the DJ is for. I simply told my DJ what I didn't want, mainly Rap, and line dances, and how I wanted music from all decades so that everyone can dance, not just the young people. My husband and I were dating when American Idol first started, and we both liked Clay Aiken somewhat. Anyway, our song is "The Way."

We danced to "You're my Inspiration" by Chicago...we thought the words were really fitting and ofcourse it's a classic.

i got married march 27th of last year.
for the the father daughter dance we used "I Loved Her First" by heartland. (yes it is country but before throwing it out you should definitely look at the lyrics. Not a cry eye in the room.)
Our first dance was Unchained Melody by the Righteous Brothers. (Classic)
We also used as our first walk as husband and wife the Love Actually version of "All you need is Love" by the Beatles.
We also did a sand ceremony and had this beautiful song playing in the background. It is by Na Leo called "The Rest of Life." It is single handed the most beautiful couple/wedding song. They are a hawaiian female group and it is amazing. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful. The only reason that I didn't use it as our first dance is because our song was Unchained Melody since we both loved Ghost...

For our Father-Daughter Dance we had "Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn. I danced with my Dad and my husband danced with his daughter. She was 7 at the time and that is still "their song" :)
