Father's Day Gift for Grandpa

I have no idea what to get my father for Father's Day from my daughter. My dad and I don't have the closest relationship, but I've tried more since my daughter was born (she's 2 years old now). I feel like I've done the picture thing for every occasion since she was born and I'd like to do something different this time. Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

They have kits, at almost every craft store, where you can put your child's hand print in plaster. You can then paint or decorate around it. They are not very expensive, and they will be a life long memory for your father of her tiny, two year old hand!

Use paint to put her hand prints on a t-shirt. What grandfather wouldn't like that? Have fun!

There is a great book that is a fill-in the gaps book.

Your daughter can give him the book as a gift, and he fills the whole thing out, and then he can give her the book back.

She will always have it and it will hold all the memories for her later in life when he may not be around to spend time with her anymore.

Good luck, and it is perfectly fine for your daughter to give him a gift, and you should also work on mending your relationship if not for yourself, then for your children. Good luck

Your daughter does not need to get a gift for grandpa. There is a grandparents day where grandparents are celebrated. Pick something for your father from you and only you. Since you don't have a good relationship as you put it, try and make it a special day between the two of you.

Does he spend any time with her? If so, go to the bookstore and get a kid's book about grandpas.....there are great ones out there. That way he can have a special book to read with her. Have your daughter color a picture for him and put it in a nice frame and just replace the "art" every year.

Nothing- it's Father's Day so the gift should be from you! I would send a card and include some of her artwork. If you would like to send your father a gift from you, then do so or, even better, invite him over for a cup of coffee and spend some time together. Gifts are not going to make your relationship stronger- time will!
