How many ounces are you feeding her in the first bottle???

Formula or breastmilk???

Babies go through growth spurts but it is not normal if she never seems to get full....... At 6 weeks, I'd say 4 to 8 ounces would be a "normal" range at a feeding. If it's formula, she should be fairly satisfied for 3 to 4 hours. Breastmilk, it's more like 2 to 3 hours. Make sure you are mixing the right water to formula ratio if you are feeding formual. That could throw her off otherwise....

she's hungry.
MANY times, a baby will "cluster feed" as well... this means, that they will even feed every single hour or more frequently than "usual."
This means they are going through a "growth-spurt."
It is NORMAL.

In a newborn, every 3 weeks or so is a growth-spurt.
Then at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 12 months, 15 months etc., are growth spurt times, as well, in older babies.

Feed her ON-demand. Always. So that she gets proper intake and nutrients... 24/7, day and night. A baby's intake, needs to keep up WITH their growth.

Do NOT feed, according to a "schedule" otherwise she will NOT be getting adequate intake. Feed on demand always.

All the best,
Susan

I was told that at around 6 weeks they go through quite a little growth spurt. I was breastfeeding every HOUR during that week and couldn't believe my little girl just kept eating and eating. As long as she's not spitting up, feed her as often as she wants! Good luck and congrats!! My baby girl is 5 and a half months and the time goes by so quickly, you can't believe it!

May God bless you and your new baby girl with His love
My theory is that you feed the baby until they stop eating. Perhaps you are giving 4 oz and she needs 6 now.
My first baby took the entire 4 oz bottle at the hospital, the nurses were surprised. They gave him another 4 oz bottle an hour later because he was crying so much.
At home I fixed 8oz bottles and he was happy.
Fed him food early too as he was a hungry man.
No two babies eat the same
Congrats

if she's hungry, feed her. make sure there is no unnecessary sugar in the formula, though.
