You might google it-I did the same thing recently and used a combo of WD40 and Hairsprqay and my red came up. Remover always spreads it for me!
How do you remove fingernail polish from the carpet? Thanks for any help.
10/24/06 The color of the polish is a dark reddish purple. It's just one line of polish in an oval type shape. The carpet color is a light beige. It's been spilled for about a month now, and I'm just finding out about it. I just don't want to use something that will eat the carpet. Thanks
Thanks for the advice, I'll try the fingernail polish remover. I didn't even think of that.

If fingernail polish remover won't do it call a professional to either patch in a new piece or try something else.
Scrub it with polish remover as best as possible. After the spot dries use Folex carpet cleaner. My 2 yr old spilled red finger nail polish on our new carpet. My husband used almost a whole bottle of polish remover trying to pick up the stain. It got most of it. Then I tried Folex carpet cleaner. I swear it is a magic potion. It has gotten up every stain that I have put it on. Good Luck!
Fingernail polish worked for me. My daughter spilled about half a bottle on my livingroom carpet. Yuck! It didn't come out 100% but my carpet is dark so it's not noticeable unless you know it's there.
Try fingernail polish remover. If that doesn't help then try calling a salon or someone who would know what to do.
First, I would try applying fingernail polish remover on a sponge and scrubbing it off. Be sure to throw away the sponge afterwards.
If it doesn't work, you might want to try getting a can of upholstery cleaner and see if it does the trick.
I work with a wellness company that markets environmentally safe products, over 400 better & safer items for less money than shopping traditional stores. We have a product that may work...it took red wine, and red children's toothpaste out of my carpet!

Well, first off what color is it? If it has any sort of red dye, i highly doubt it'll come out unless you try and bleach it.
As a nail technician, i've spilled nail polish many of times. try using 100% acetone (you can get it at walmart/target even dollar stores sometimes and just dab it on with a sponge)
good luck!

If fingernail polish remover doesn't work, try Spot Shot. My son had a dark colored lipstick on beige carpet when he was young and it did a great job getting it out. It did not come out all the way but most of it did and hardly noticeable. Good luck!
