Good Morning Ladies. I am needing some good finger food ideas for my almost 1 year old. I have run out of ideas. He eats what we eat as long as it isn't too spicy or tough but need some new ideas for his lunch. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

My twins-16 mos- love frozen waffles, uncooked - still frozen, actually all my kids loved them.
-I cut peanut butter and butter sandwiches into long strips or bite size pieces and they devour that.
-popcorn chicken is always great
-peas, corn niblets, diced carrots
-cut up hamburger
-diced up hot dogs
-teddy grahams
-cut up peaches, bananas
-I will cut up lunch meat, cheese, and bread separetly or together as a sandwich
Hopefully this was helpful and not just a bunch of stuff you already do.

When my girls were little, I would give them cheese cut up into sticks or cubes, and hard boiled eggs. For the really little ones, you want to take out the yolk of a hard boiled egg, as it can be a choking hazard. I also bought cereals such as Lucky Charms that are nice to eat just as a crunchy snack. Really, though, anything can be finger food for a toddler. It's just a matter of how much mess you are willing to put up with. Both of my girls also loved the Arrowroot cookies from the baby food aisle. My mother in law used to make tortillas every morning, and she would usually hand pieces of tortilla to the kids as they walked past. Fresh tortillas are a lot tastier than the packaged kind from the store, and the kids would happily eat them plain with nothing on them.

Sprouts has these wonderful baked snap peas that are made for salads, but they are the best snack. They have a little protein in them. My 10-month old and 2 year old like them.

I have a 14 month old, and I just found a lunchable that is for younger kids. It is called Lunchable Jr., they are in a bright blue packaging, these are great for on-the-go lunches. They include a meat, cheese, and crackers that are already cut up small enough for them to eat. Also, some snack ideas, my little guy loves yogurt covered raisens, plain raisens, dried cranberries, or any kind of dried fruit. Hope this helps!

At almost 1 my son liked the Gerber hot dogs in the jar (they are soft and easy to chew/swallow), the freeze dried fruits, canned fruit, pasta, individual serving of veggies (Gerber jars or I think Dole or somebody makes them - in the canned veggie aisle), veggie crackers, yogurt with a little sprinkle of Grape Nuts. I got a lot of the Gerber toddler foods (pasta pickups, microwave little dinners).

My son loves veggie burgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. My kid isn't a pasta eater (the only kid I know who won't eat mac n cheese!), but have you tried mac n cheese or ravioli cut up into bite size pieces?

Hi. I have twin 1 year olds. They are beginning to eat finger foods, but I'm always careful for things that can choke on. Here are a list of things that I have been able to give them successfully with no problems:
Peanut Butter Ritz crackers, small pieces of very soft cooked carrots, very small pieces of cooked hamburger, buttered toast, shortbread cookies, gerber finger foods. Good luck. Enjoy your sweet little one. Have a great holiday season.
