Hi, I need a free website for signing people up for an event. I specifically need to be able to request name, phone and e-mail and send the invite out by a link (not to specific e-mail addresses). I also need to be able to e-mail specifics to those coming right before the event. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!!!!

www.signupgenius.com is what was recommended to me for coordinating volunteers for my Scholastic Book Fairs, I just have not had a chance to implement it. Hope it helps!

Try Google Chrome and circles. I can't remember how it works, but it's really great for putting a database of people in. Let's say you have a group of people in your "organization". You send out invites to different events. One third of your database RSVP's that they are coming. Part of them pay the fee, and part of them don't. You can manipulate the "circle" as people pay so that you send out a reminder only to the folks who still owe money. You can send out the "ticket" to get into the event to the folks who have already paid. The circles make it really easy and you aren't having to send out personal emails and make sure you have correct who is and isn't getting one...
