Full Time Daycare for Kids in Area

I will be moving to Beaverton this spring. I am trying to find recommendations on full time daycares for my children in the area. By the time we move my daughter will be 2 1/2 and my son will be 4 1/2. I work almost full time as a physical therapist and my husband will hopefully be in graduate school. We will probably have to have the kids in fulltime daycare 3 days per week. I would love to find a daycare/preschool that they can both be at but it seems like most places are half day programs for 3+ year olds not many combined programs. My kids are currently in a large daycare/preschool at the church we attend 3 days a week and are just thriving there. Ideally, I would love them to be in a Christian based program but would be happy just in a great place where the teachers are wonderful and my kids are happy. Any recommendations you have would be great.

What can I do next?

If you're near a YMCA, we've been to several all over the Portland area and they've been wonderful! There's one near Tanasbourne if you're on that end of Beaverton (the Amberglen site) and they were great when my daughter attended for a few weeks (I got a job near there right before she started Kindergarten - which is the only reason we went for a short amount of time). The YMCA programs are Christian based. :-)

My kids are 5 and 2 and they attend full time at A Few Great Kids. It's a home daycare/preschool, but on the larger side, so she has a couple of assistants. I've had my kids at large daycare centers and had reservations at first about a home daycare. We've been there about a year now and just love it, in fact, I wish now that I had found Ms. Brandi sooner! She has a website, so you can check it out further if you'd like. And if you want any more specific referral information, I'd be happy to talk to you more.

We found a wonderful in-home daycare/preschool called A Lil' Dreamers: www.alildreamer.com (we laugh at the name and call it A Lil' Dreamers Drunken Daycare). They're located right between 119th and Saltzman, in the Cedar Mill area. Depending on where you're at in Beaverton it could be really close.

We've been continually impressed with their planning and organization, and the great care they take of the kids. I'm a mom who strives to go organic, and Amy, the owner, agreed to serve all organic foods on Tuesdays and Thursdays to help address my concerns. Our son brings home crafts he's done every day, and we get a daily report card detailing his activities, naps, food, etc. He loves it there, and we feel very lucky to have found it.

Your kiddos could spend full days together, too!

If interested, call Amy Hix at ###-###-####. Tell her L. and Griffin sent you! You can also send me a personal message if you have any other questions.

We love Touchstone in Tigard and they have a campus in Beaverton, too. Here is the website. http://beavertontouchstone.com/. It is a great school with caring staff and you can go in and observe and also let your child have a Discovery Day where they participate for the day and see how it goes.

Check them out! They are very good in the education department, you know what they are learning through their explorations and they offer Spanish, PE, and Music, too. It is a great program.
