I have never been one for taking time to myself or for spending money on myself. Lately I have been really down on myself, and would like to have a little "me" time to pamper myself. There are several things I'd like to do, but realistically it would be limited to either getting my hair done or my nails or something like that. I have only had my nails done twice, and my hair hasn't been so much as trimmed in over 2 years, unless I do it myself. I love fixing myself up and looking cute, but I very rarely have a reason to. I work, come home, clean, and care for my kids. That's it anymore. Does anyone know of any place in or around Springfield that isn't expensive where I could go for any of that? Also, if you have any estimates of costs, that would be very helpful also. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I am in Springfield too! I get my hair done at Mojo Pie by Nikki Madden. They are a full service salon. They do massage, nails, makeup, hair...the works. Not to mention the building is so awesome. They have kind of have a Marti Gras theme but with cool art work everywhere. It is such a neat building. I don't know the prices of everything but the hair cut is $35. I know it is expensive but it is oh so woth it. She even does a mini massage on your neck and head when she washes your hair!! It's fabulous!! The number is ###-###-####.
I, actaully, am doing a charity silent auction online right now for Children's Miracle Network. Nikki donated a hair cut. You could send in a bid if you wanted to get it for less than face value. Here is the link to it...

One other thing! I am in a mom's group for the Springfield area. If you are interested in joining it here is the link for that!...

If you are looking for a great haircut and some time to yourself I would suggest The Cutting Edge. I am a working mom, so know the stress and time constraints that are an everyday reality. I also know the importance of taking some time for yourself. I can dress casual for my 7-3 job and I dress up for my home-based business events. I love to walk into the living room and know that I look great. My husband loves this too. Take the time and get pampered!!!!
Check out the local cosmatology school. You can get totally pampered (by students) for very little money. I've had a leg wax, but you can get hair, nails, the works. If you don't mind being a guinea pig for the students, it can save you a ton of money. :)

Hey girl, I feel your pain...only I work at home so I really NEVER dress up. I have lived in springfield for about 2 years, and I am married to a wonderful man..but we have 3 babies and they are all under 3. So we don't get out much. But he is always telling me to go out and find some friends! How are you supposed to do that when you don't know anyone...lol..my first thought is "grocery store" which is the last place I want to be. lol. Anyway, we should get together. My number is ###-###-####. Talk to you soon!
