My DVR is my new best friend. Lifetime TV airs Denise Austin at 7AM every weekday. She has two different programs, and I love them both. I couldn't always get to them at 7AM, but now I dvr them and get to them when I can. Your other option is walking. There are some great places to walk if you want to drive (Castle Island?), or even walk around your own neighborhood. Can you walk at lunch and then eat at your desk? The fresh air is invigorating and the walk is great for you. Good luck, it's hard to get started but once you do you'll feel great.

Hi all,

Looks like it's been a while since this post, but I thought I would chime in. I also like the offerings On Demand. Another option are the great offerings for DVD. I love the BeachBody products. I lost 30 pounds of post pregnancy weight using Turbo Jam. Now I'm moving on to P90X. I'm also a fitness coach. I can help you select the workouts that are right for you. Cheers! I am also finding it hard to find time to exercise with my 5 month old. But here are some suggestions whihc might also work fro you. The DVR is great and on demand exercise shows are very convenient too. You can do them while abby naps or before you go to work. For me, it works to do it before bed, but for most people it makes them stay more awake and not be tired before bed. Also, the weather is gettign nicer and stroller rides are great! castle island like someone else mentioned is awesome! whata great walk! and there's swings and stuff for kids!

With a busy day it's tough to make a commitment to exercise. My suggestion is what worked for me: make it a part of your everyday life. Don't make it hard to exercise, like, that you need to wear special clothes to do it or join a gym, take yoga, etc.
Start simply by walking more often. Exercise takes time of course but do things like allow time to walk during breaks from work, or during your everyday commute.
I am so happy now that I am a SAHM I am not stuck behind a desk all day long so that really helps- simply moving has kept that extra weight off.
As far as eating habits go, try to keep a regular routine.
Don't skip meals and think you're doing yourself a favor b/c 'you're not eating as much'.
Make sure to eat a healthy breakfast- that starts the day off right. Try to eat your meals at the same time every day.
Stay away from excessive sugars and carbs (they make you feel hungry again a short time after b/c they digest so fast/empty calories).
Lastly, make sure you drink enough water! Not having enough water, especially if you drink coffee a lot, can actually give you a sluggish feeling.
