My son loves his scooter, they this nice ones that have 2 wheels in the front for better balance you can find them in Walmart.
I am in need of a gift idea for twin 4 year old boys. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My son has an "adventure backpack" he received for his birthday, filled with outdoor items, a lantern, a canteen, a flip pocket knife (all safe and plastic) magnifying glass, specimen jar, and some other items. I think they found it at toys-r-us. He loves getting out his backpack and going outside with al his tools, playing and exploring outside
Lego's are great, building sets, dress up sets.
Save the boxes, they are instant cars and forts.
Having an almost 4 year old, this one is easy. My son loves trains -- Thomas, Brio, Geotrax (what he's into especially right now); he also has a Fisher-Price plan that you shoot into the air (I think it's called the Shake-n-Glide or something like that) -- he loves that thing. We got him a Plasma car and will be getting him a battery-powered jeep for Christmas. He also loves music CD's (they have those ones that are personalized with the kids' names that are cute) and books -- all kinds. He's also getting into dinosaurs right now. I had a friend who bought him a subscription to the Animal Baby/Ranger Rick magazine; it was one of the best gifts he received.
Hope this helps some!
Age appropriate lego sets that are different can be played by themselves for 10 minutes and then combined for more fun and eventually end up in the big lego bin which is even more fun.
Anything they can build with is great for boys. My kids love the age appropriate legos and they enjoy the kid k'nex.
It depends on how much you would like to spend, but my son loves his Click Start by Leapfrog. I love the fact that is an educational toy. Also, there is a VTech Tote 'N Go Laptop Plus that my son plays with that he loves! I bought one for my sister's twins for their birthday this year and my only regret is that I didn't buy 2! They LOVE it! Good luck and have fun with it! There are so many cool toys for kids these days!
I have identical twin 4 year old boys and they are absolutely NUTS over Thomas the Tank Engine. I can't imagine any boy who wouldn't be! :)
All of the above are great ideas.
I like old-fashioned toys. Here are a couple sites:

www.backtobasictoys.com
www.youngexplorers.com
There are tons of neat things.
I love the idea of personalized things. It is hard with twins. I mean, there is a line of thought that says "stay away from matching" and a line of thought that says "buy identical". UGH...
Good luck.
My twin nephews are almost 4 and they love using their imaginations with play doctor kits, costumes and building blocks. My other nephew is a little younger and he LOVES legos! They have them for different age groups, but he will sit and play for hours with them.
Another gift they loved was a shark tent I got a target (they still have it) that was about $25. It can go indoors and outdoors and the opening of the tent is the shark's mouth. Here's a link for the tent: http://www.target.com/Shark-Tent/dp/B000HTLU9Y
Good luck!
Hi E.! I work for a company called Steel My Heart. You can actually personalize different things for people. You can look at the different items online at J..yoursmh.com
There are these bracelets with flames on them that you can put each boys name on. They are stainless steel so it wouldn't be 'girly'. My nephew is 7 and has one and wears it daily. It's a unique idea that I'm sure the boys wouldn't already have. If you would like more infomation email me at ____@____.com
