Desmon Jr. (my son) has a doctor's appointment next Tuesday with the neuro and I wanted to treat my baby with something. I would love to take him to the matinee at about 12:20pm to see "Horton hears a who". I think it would be good.. how bout you? Should I take him?

What can I do next?

We took my 3 year old to the movie and he loved it (I did too as far as that goes). It's funny, cute, and actually has some wonderful life lessons in it as well. My son is super active and we call him our wild child. He does, however, enjoy watching movies and videos. We have taken him to 2 movies and he has done really well. So if your son likes to watch videos, he'll probably do good in the movie. We also splurged and got some popcorn and a soda to share, so he thought the snacks were pretty cool (or you could sneak your son's favorite snack in your purse). The good thing is, this is a children's movie, and you're talking about a matinee during the week, so anyone else in that theater will also be there with children and should be pretty understanding and tolerant if he gets a little noisy or restless; plus, the speakers in the theater are so loud anyway, you can talk at a normal volume and it's not too disturbing to those around you (so you're not having to constantly remind him to whisper). Hope you enjoy it!

Studio Movie Grill in Arlington (and maybe other locations) hosta a family day for children with disabilities. I think it's awesome and you don't have to worry if he'll sit through it and be quiet. I think you are doing an awesome job!

I would also look at the Movie Tavern's online. The one in Bedford has a "cry baby" early movies so you can take younger kids. It is o.k. for them to get up and run around during the movie they also sell food.
