We have the leapster and v smile and my kids enjoy both. both can also be plugged into the TV. I would choose the leapster though because it has games for as your daughter gets older while the v smile focus' on younger ages.
I am trying to buy smart this year for my 4 year old girl and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good educaional hand held game. There are so many to choose from. She loves princess of course so has anyone had a good experience with any of those. Also any other great ideas for Christmas gifts for her I would love to hear. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

For hand-held games you asked about, we have the Leapster.
You can find it on www.amazon.com
and it has "free"shipping too.
It's educational and my kids really like it.
Another great gift, and which both my kids love and never grew out of yet, is this:

Kids love furniture their own size... and this is very useful and fun... it is very portable and light and you can even take it to Grandma's house. We have even, taken it to our local hotel for the weekend and our kids slept on it... since it was so familiar to them and comfy. It really goes a long way... my son has even been known to drag it around from room to room to sit where HE wants. It's real cute and fun and they have both "girl" and "boy" versions. They can even use it to sleep on at home or to nap.
My kids are 6 years old and 2 years old, and they both use it a lot and for pretend play too. We have had these "sofas" for over 1 year now.
Good luck,
Susan

Hi
We have the leapster and my kids love it. I also make hair bows. Let me know if you are interested
Good luck
I sat on the couch with my 3 year old and looked through a toy catalog and waited for her reaction to the toys. I rated them 1 - 5 and then left it for her older sister and dad to see.
