Good Restaurant in Fort Worth (Nice but OK for Kid) for When Mom/Dad Visit?

Hi Moms,

My MIL and FIL are coming in town for the weekend to celebrate hubby's White Coat Ceremony (medical school beginning) and we want to do dinner with them. We have a 6 year old son who does very well in places like Olive Garden and The Flying Fish. We'd like to go to a "nice" place that's still somewhat family friendly, or at least doesn't have a "grownups only" atmosphere.

Any suggestions for Fort Worth? We live on the West side of the city, near 820/30.

Thanks.

I was going to suggest the Riatta also. Rooftop dining. They have delicious Mac and cheese.

Joe T Garcia's is always a fun place to take out of town guests and is kid friendly as well.

I love the idea of JoeTs, but heat is an issue there if you don't get an inside seat. REATA is great, but if you kiddo isn't well behaved it is more of an adult atmosphere, especially the rooftop bar area.

Tillman's is super fun and nice and a little on the loud side, so kids are a great fit. I haven't been to Brownstone, but it is also in W 7th and looks super yummy.

Woodshed is outside and has a relaxed environment and I see a lot of kids there for dinner.

good luck and congrats to you all on your new journey:)

I case you don't get many responses, check out tripadvisor:

This is my go to site for finding places to go and things to do, hotels, restaurants, everything. LOTS of reviews and you can sort it based on cost and what kind of food you like/don't like.

We usually go to Riata in downtown FW to celebrate special occasions. And it is especially interesting to out of town visitors. We have taken older kids (early teens) and they had a good time. The crowd is definitely more adult there, but I do see families with children too. Congrats to your husband!

Most of the restaurants I can think of, aren't really great for kids. I like Mi Cocina. It feels nicer, and kids are welcome. There is one in Sundance Square, and I think 2 other Fort Worth locations.
