Hello I live in Fullerton, CA and will b e planning a birthdy for my son who will be Three. Since the party is in December, I need to find a great indoor way to celebrate for him. We had a party in the park last year and we were all miserable. I want to avoid outside venues this year. I want him to enjoy his party without everyone ducking out early to avoid the chill. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you in advance!!!

What can I do next?

Hi J.,

I live in Fullerton too, and attended a birthday party once at the CSUF bowling alley. It was very private, you could bring in your own food, and there was something for everyone to do (billiards, pool, and plenty of space for folks to sit and talk).

The other place I thought of was at Concourse Bowling, next door to Fry's on La Palma Avenue. It is not at all what you think of when you think of a bowling alley. It's actually a very nice place for a get together and can be made to be very private for your party. We had a party there for my daughter's girl scout troop and everyone had a great time.

Wherever you plan your son's party, I hope it is a success and that you are able to enjoy the party too!

Best of luck,
L.

There are a lot of great indoor bounce house places that are perfect for a 3 year old's birthday.

I've actually been working on compiling reviews of some of the different ones around OC. You can check them out here: http://oc.citymommy.com/?q=node/2766

You can also do parties at My Gym, Little Gym and Gymboree, even if you're not a member and don't take classes. I've never been to a Gymboree party, but the other two are a lot of fun!

I had a party for my 3 year old at My Gym. Everyone had a blast. The kids ranged in age from 6 months to 12 years old. There is a My Gym in Anaheim Hills and Chino Hills.
You may also want to consider the Children's Museum in La Habra. I believe the price is much cheaper than My Gym. There's a lot of really cool hands on things for the kids and you can serve refreshments indoors.

If your house can accommodate a number of guests, try having the party at home with a theme. For my other son's first birthday (January), I had a cakey bakey party where this lady came to my home with plain baked mini cakes and all sorts of decorations (icing, candies, pretzels, marshmallows, anything, you name it). Each child decorated their mini cake. It was perfect because the weather was cold and it was muddy outside from the winter rain.
I have a December birthday and I remember one year we celebrated a birthday at McDonald's in the pouring rain. Eating a Sundae in the cold just isn't the same. Whatever you do, good luck- I'm sure it's going to be a hit with your advanced planning :)

For my son's 3rd we had Prehistoric Pets come out to the house and bring a bunch of creepy crawlers.. the kids loved it.. You can also have birthday parties at their site in Fountain Valley. The kids had a great time learning and being able to hold some of the reptiles.

Have fun~

I am tossing around having my daughter's 3rd at build a bear in downtown disney. You only need a minimum of 6 kids and bears start at $10. give them a budget and they will have the kids stick to that. Its just going to be her cousins and some friends. I'll probably do dessert for the fam at my house another time. I was thinking this would just be simple.

There is an ESPN there so that may be an idea too. They have games and stuff.
