Has anyone taken the Gymboree classes or The Little Gym classes? My daughter is almost 10 months old. Is one better than the other or are they about the same classes (for the 10 month -19 month old babies)? We tried The Little Gym class, but it seemed a little advanced for her. Just trying to decide! Thanks!
Why not try a smalltalkers class instead! Located right in Centreville. It is a fun, bright, clean faciility with tons of toys. Go to a playgroup with other moms and babies the same age and learn how to play in a way that will boost early language development. They are offering Open Play sessions on Tuesdays in January and Fridays in February. Check out the website www.smalltalkersllc.com
Gymboree first, then when she outgrows that (or you want a change) Little Gym is great! It has more variety and is bigger. I loved that one the best. When she's not "tumbling", playgroup is great for interaction/socialization for her and you!
Ive done both of those and the JW Tumbles. My conclusion was that Gymboree was a waste and the teachers really didnt have any experience - it was a big disappointment. JW Tumbles is good for the really young because it is just a big inexpensive playtime. But I LOVE Little Gym- I have seem my daughter blossom there and I have to drive pretty far to get there (and I think its an indulgence as it is expensive) but my daughter has changed so much since going there and the teachers are dance instructors who studied dance so they are very watchful of movement.
Another place you might want to consider is Monkey Business in falls church- friends TOTALLY love it for the pre-toddle sect.

You can try a class for free at Gymboree. We lucked out I guess, both my daughter's teachers at Gymboree had experience and she started at 10 months. We only stopped b/c our fave teacher moved and my daughter started preschool at age 3. We also took a class in Burke at My Gym, its pretty much the same as Gymboree with some extra kiddie gymnastics equipment and a ball pit(that they keep clean!). You can try a class for free there too! good luck!

We loved Little Gym and I would still have my kids enrolled there - but they closed the one near our house and it's a 45 minute drive to another one. My daughter started when she was about 18 months old. She was developmentally delayed and it was really good for her motor skills (fine and gross) and her attention. Since at that age, it's a parent/child class, it was good for us to help her do the stuff. We really liked the teachers and how patient they were with the kids.
